Favorite Things To Sip On!

Recommended Posts

I love me some apple juice. It's been on my "No" list for so long .. calories and carbs when I try not to drink any calories. I've been indulging lately because of my liquid diet, but I'm sure, soon I'll have to ditch the apples in favor of some more Atkins friendly drinks. :)

hmmmm, by the time I get my "breakfast" Protein finished, it's "lunch"...and well right now I'm 1/2 finished with the "dinner" one (16oz each)....this evening will be a Miralax coctail, lol! That's 55 ounces of liquid a day...that's cool, right? oh, and none are my favorite...just tolerable...hope it's okay, that my protiens are going in sippery slow...

I mix a full day's worth of Protein in the morning and drink on it all day. That way I'm sure I got it all in and it makes it not as bad. (Mostly because I can't quite take a whole serving (6oz) in one shot and if I mix one serving at a time I'll push it until I drink it (empty plate syndrome has followed me to liquids). I use a little 1 oz hurricane/fancy cup and pour the shake into it. So I can mentally finish the glass without having to finish the mixer.

Something tasty to add to your shakes is some instant coffee. You get kind of a latte/mocha going depending on your shake flavor (vanilla/chocolate) .. put it in a blender with some ice and you have a frappe :)

I've finally discovered no sugar added frozen fruit pops. Given I've been drinking fruit punch and grape drinks for weeks now...plus the Protein shakes...having a tangerine pop was heaven. I missed Citrus.

Diluted Minute Maid low-cal orange juice. I can't live without it and by the time it's diluted, it's only 25 calories a glass- plus it has calcium! Now if only I could find a non-creamy, orange flavored Protein to add to it!

My doc won't let me have citrus for like 6 months or something stupid.

I get the 32 oz Power-Ade Zero's. I drink one a day, and with my other drinks I know I'm over 64 oz's. I still have an aversion to drinking Water at 5 1/2 months post-op for some reason.

I can drink a glass of 3/4 Water and 1/4 of diet cranberry or diet cran grape. Diet snapple green tea is nice and I brew up Decaf tea and pour it over crushed ice with a half pack of Splenda.

When I need a " citrus" fix I make the sunrise orange crystal light and let it get to slushy point in the freezer.

Decaf hot tea with milk is my absolute fav. I can't drink cold stuff since surgery. It just doesn't go down well :-(

I have been craving apple juice. I have been having trouble getting my liquids in so some watered down(melted ice) has been great at helping get my liquids in.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
