Do we need to do fmla paper work to be off for surgery

Yes it's a must for some employers. Also, it protects you whenever you have a serious medical condition, the federal government protects your job for up to 12 weeks while your off. ALSO there is intermittent FML (on same form) where your Dr. Can check that you may have reoccurring appts or side effects. Then you can call in whenever you are not feeling well after sleeve without punishment or discipline. I ALWAYS submit FML paperwork even if it's just a week.

I ordered a samplr pack from BariatricChoice.com (free). Havent tasted anything yet though..

Ladies and gents i will say i am ready to pulk my hair ouy. I started my preop this past friday buttttt..... i am also on prednisone for an upper respiratory infection.. vant eat but want to eat... im miserable. A sugar free fat free fudge sicle just saved my life. For the moment...

I've never tried that. ..I guess I'm sticking with what I know I like (: the double stuffed cookie, caribbean cooler, vanilla bean torte are my personal favorites from Syntrax nectar. I mix them with Water only. I don't like milkyness when mixed with milk. I am so not looking forward to 14 days liquid only. I'm going to be a bear. Surgery Feb 14th.

Someone help me!.. i am sooo struggling on this diet. And to add insult to this " injury", the nurse practitioner called me and happened to hear how congested i am. She said if it doesnt clear up, they will cancel surgery!!!!!!! Im naturally stuffed up but have had an upper resp infection for the past 2 months...(on and off)

Please pray that this cold clears soon!!.. if they cancel its back to food for a day for me. I cant do this another week.. its torture.

Where i am, we can only have 5 shakes a day. Nothing added but the powder and the milk. We can have broth and crystal liht etc.. nothing more.. i cant do but so much chicken and beef broth. vanilla strawberry and chocolate are now my enemies. Help me lord.. this too shall pass!

Yep I'm there w/ you. I'm on day 2 of liquids, roughly the same diet as you. Only Protein w/ Water only, stock and clears. I've had a bit of Jello but it just doesn't taste like it's worth the trouble. I have sugar free popsicles i might have as well.

I'm whining to anyone who'll listen and I already miss chewing. You're going to be ok, this part just sucks is all.

So here goes day one complete of my preop. Six days to go before my surgery. Really am looking forward to starting a new chapter my life. So excited to see where this path leads. I have to admit that the liquid diet is definitely something that is eating away at me. The shakes and broth liquid diet just doesn't seem to cut it have to remember that it is a mind game with my body. You know I think I'm hungry I'm really not. Just need to get that through my thick skull.

Evening Nuff, Ihave some suggestions for you, first increase your Water intake, get you some mint tea nice and hot with fresh lemon juice and honey, that should help clear you up. Also I have a recipe for chicken Soup that will help clear you up. I know you are on all liquids so you will have to give the chicken to someone else but here goes: Get you about 5-6 chicken wings, in pot with 4 cups of water, 2 packs of sazon seasoning, i half onion chopped and 2 or 3 celery stalks, some fresh ground pepper, let it cook till chicken falls off the bone and have at it. This will also work for your puree phase also. Try those things and let me know how you feel after wards.... Praying for you....

Try some sugar free gum to take care of that chewing urge.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
