I had my surgery on Oct 30 and I am on puree and drinking as much as I can. Popsicles are my new best friend. My problem is that with minimal movement, walking around the house I get hot where I need to go outside or strip some clothes off. I feel bad because I do not want to turn my heater on because of this and my poor husband freezes. I can only go to the store for a few minutes because I get hot and then feel exhausted. I have a appt tomorrow to have my Vitamin levels checked.

It takes awhile to get your energy back, that's for sure. Your body is running on so much less than it used to. And your hormones have been affected by the surgery. I myself am colder than I once was. I'm not sure how old you are, but I would think it's a function of your body adjusting to the changes it's going through. Every week you'll feel better, some days you'll feel whooped! I'm at 3 months and feeling much more myself than in the first 2, and I didn't have any set backs or problems of any kind.

Thank-you…I have Lupus and Sjogren's Syndrome on Monday's I take a form of chemo pills, so my immune system is low…maybe that has something to do with it as well. :(

What meds are you taking for your lupus? I was on planquinel and methotrexate. The methotrexate caused me to have the same symptoms you described. Felt like I was in menopause!! I quit both meds 2 weeks before surgery Sept 4th and have not taken anything since! Feel amazing! Weight is comin off slow... I've only lost 40.5. But I'm thrilled to be off the meds and feeling good. I was lower BMI so I expected to be a slower loser.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
