Living In Saudi And Being Sleeved On 8/12

Recommended Posts

So excited but so scared. I am an Aussie living in Saudi and things are done differently here from what I have been reading. I am not sure what to say but I really could do with some advice on medications. Do I continue to take my meds?

Is it correct that you aren't scheduled to be sleeved until August 2013? I lived in Egypt for a number of years so I get you when you write that things are done differently there but it would seem like Saudi Arabia would have some really good doctors. Is your doctor not giving you proper information? What meds are you referring to?

No I am bing done on December 8th. Sorry in Australia we write the dates the other way around. I have seen my doctor and am going in for pre op check a week before. I hope they can answer my med questions then. I currently take blood pressure, cholesterol and an antacid as well as fluoxetine. I have to keep taking the fluoxetine as you cannot go cold turkey. It is in a capsule form. Any suggestions.

Oh, okay. I have lots of Aussie friends and now know what a boot and bonnet are but didn't know about writing the dates differently! :^) Okay, I also take prozac and I was told it's fine to take it up until surgery day. As for the others, I don't know but surely your doctor will tell you during your preop appt. Or, you could just call and ask them for peace of mind. Congrats on your upcoming life change. I get my sleeve this Friday. :) What do you do in Saudi?

Good luck with your sleeve. Keep me posted. I have been here just over a year and am here with my husband. I am really enjoying my time here and am very excited for my sleeve.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
