Where do you stand?

No matter where you are on your journey' date=' could you share some body stats? If not your current stats, then where you started?

I sometimes see people becoming discouraged if someone is losing faster, or someone who weighs the same as they do can wear a smaller size.

I think it will help to see that everyone is DIFFERENT, we all carry our weight differently, and height makes a difference. Muscle mass and gender make a HUGE difference.

Feel free to update as your size changes.[/quote']

Im 5'9 started at 371 now 349 surgery is 3/18

I'm 5'6" (I've shrunk and inch), started at 222 lbs (size 18) (had been up to 253/size22/24W) Now, 4 days post op, 2 days out of the hospital I am down to 211.4 lbs. Have no idea of size---still wearing as baggy as possible.

I think I also shrunk and inch because i was 5'7 now it says 5'6....sucks...lol

Well, I have shrunk since my previous update! I am at goal since February 2013. current:

Height: 5'5"

Weight: 158

Pant size: 8 (fitted, not stretchy)

Dress size: 10

Tops: Medium

I started out at 308 day of pre-op diet start; 300 day of surgery. My all time highest weight (in 2004) was 332.

At the time of my surgery I was stuffed into 26W wearing either 2x/3x depending on the top

So, the scale weighs me heavy but I am a big framed person so everyone around me tells me to stop right here since I am bony looking even weighing in the 150s. The attached photos are when I was about 5# over goal.

Height: 5'11"

Love it! Weight will probably climb 5-10 lb as I get muscular. Just starting crossfit to help with that. Main cardio is running 5k-10k 3x a week.

I am 5'3 starting weight 223 wearing 1x tops and tight 18 bottoms.

Weight now 150-152 medium tops and 10/12 bottoms

I'm currently in a five week stall. I don't always eat the right things, but I manage to stay under my 1200 calories and work out 4/5 times a week. Guess it's time to shake things up!!!

I hope you're not expecting a lot more than this in the long run - looking at your numbers, it looks like you've lose nearly a pound a day since your surgery! That's fantastic! Remember, this isn't a miracle, it's a tool - but your body can only do so much in a certain amount of time. you're doing great!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
