Who's Eating Pureed Foods Already?

Recommended Posts

I am starting pureed foods tomorrow (woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), and already have a list a mile long of what I want to eat!

What fills you up quickly? What feels good in your pouch? What tastes good? What doesn't?

I'm just curious!

I tried it today. I could not wait to try food but it is all not cracked up to what it used to be....

Applesauce made me throw up and mash potatoes felt like it was stuck in chest. I had to lay down and actually fell asleep and woke up feeling better...

Take your time and don't be surpised that after 1 spoonful you may be full....

Soups were my ticket. Any and everything, just pureed real well. My favorites were smoked ham with lentils, chicken veggie and turkey chili.

Family had them in their whole form and I put mine in the bullet for a 10 second spin.

NY Beauty, sorry it didn't go so well! Tomorrow is a new day, and I hope it's better.

And thanks for the rest of the advice!

I've been allowed yogurt and pudding on my full liquid diet, and I've had zero problems with them. I plan on going slow, but man, am I excited to eat something that's not sweet!

It did great. I do use ground turkey, though, so I'm guessing that is going to break down easier. I didn't go near red meat until about 6 months in. Gotta remember the stomach is the mechanical part of digestion. You just had 85% of it removed. Don't throw it any curveballs ... know what I mean?

Well, so far, so good with my first puree!

I very softly scrambled one egg, 1/4 c. of milk, and 2 T. of light cream cheese in 1 tsp of butter. I ate about 2 T of it, or maybe 1/4 of it. I am still really hungry, but I felt a little pressure, so I stopped.

Man, did it taste good!

Just an update, in case anyone is reading.

pureed foods have gone really well for me today. So far, I've had the following:

The eggs from this morning

chicken salad made with canned chicken & mayo on top of club crackers

Fresh mozzarella

Babybel cheese

Hummus

Either I have a sleeve of steel already or he forgot to take my stomach out, because it is going really well! I stop when I feel the first sign of pressure, which is usually after about 2 T. of food.

Additionally, I've had 64 oz of Water so far.

Nice. Just keep listening to your body, take breaks between bites and take small bites.

I'm just moving on from clear liquids... So far I've had juice and Gatorade and Protein Shakes which I now hate!! Tomorrow I start with soups.. I can't wait for pureed foods though I'm not starting them till dec 3rd... Thankfully I'm not hungry at all I just want the taste of something different I guess... I wonder how long after that I'm gonna be able to move to soft solids or just solids!!! Can't wait to be able to chew something haha

I know what you mean Moniq, I'm still on clears until wednesday, and then I move on directly to mushy (stage 3 baby foods or pureed soups) for another 10 days. I can't WAIT. I was torturing myself on Pinterest last night pinning all these yummy looking recipes, I just can't wait until I can taste something other than broth or juice.< /p>

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
