Who's Eating Pureed Foods Already?

I am starting pureed foods tomorrow (woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), and already have a list a mile long of what I want to eat!

What fills you up quickly? What feels good in your pouch? What tastes good? What doesn't?

I'm just curious!

I am pre-op but very interested in reading as well! I want to be prepared :)

I tried it today. I could not wait to try food but it is all not cracked up to what it used to be....

Applesauce made me throw up and mash potatoes felt like it was stuck in chest. I had to lay down and actually fell asleep and woke up feeling better...

Take your time and don't be surpised that after 1 spoonful you may be full....

And thanks for the rest of the advice!

I've been allowed yogurt and pudding on my full liquid diet, and I've had zero problems with them. I plan on going slow, but man, am I excited to eat something that's not sweet!

It did great. I do use ground turkey, though, so I'm guessing that is going to break down easier. I didn't go near red meat until about 6 months in. Gotta remember the stomach is the mechanical part of digestion. You just had 85% of it removed. Don't throw it any curveballs ... know what I mean?

Well, so far, so good with my first puree!

I very softly scrambled one egg, 1/4 c. of milk, and 2 T. of light cream cheese in 1 tsp of butter. I ate about 2 T of it, or maybe 1/4 of it. I am still really hungry, but I felt a little pressure, so I stopped.

Man, did it taste good!

Just an update, in case anyone is reading.

pureed foods have gone really well for me today. So far, I've had the following:

The eggs from this morning

chicken salad made with canned chicken & mayo on top of club crackers

Fresh mozzarella

Babybel cheese

Hummus

Either I have a sleeve of steel already or he forgot to take my stomach out, because it is going really well! I stop when I feel the first sign of pressure, which is usually after about 2 T. of food.

Additionally, I've had 64 oz of Water so far.

Just an update' date=' in case anyone is reading.

That's fabulous...perfect! I should be able to start mushie food on Monday, can't wait! I hope mine goes as good as yours. Keep up the great worl.

Nice. Just keep listening to your body, take breaks between bites and take small bites.

Cheese is considered a mushy? Not good news for my cheese addiction!

I'm just moving on from clear liquids... So far I've had juice and Gatorade and protein shakes which I now hate!! Tomorrow I start with soups.. I can't wait for pureed foods though I'm not starting them till dec 3rd... Thankfully I'm not hungry at all I just want the taste of something different I guess... I wonder how long after that I'm gonna be able to move to soft solids or just solids!!! Can't wait to be able to chew something haha

I know what you mean Moniq, I'm still on clears until wednesday, and then I move on directly to mushy (stage 3 baby foods or pureed soups) for another 10 days. I can't WAIT. I was torturing myself on Pinterest last night pinning all these yummy looking recipes, I just can't wait until I can taste something other than broth or juice.

I, like PdxMan, have been pureeing broth and various canned soups. Last night, I pureed some beef in with some soup. It was delicious and filled me up for awhile. Tuna salad, chicken salad (without the salad part of course), oatmeal, and deviled and scrambled eggs are other ideas. I recommend mixing those though since pureeing them just obliterates the texture. Some people on this board eat baby food, beans, nuts, avocados, greek yogurt, and dairy products like cheese, cottage cheese, and sour cream. I can't personally eat those things and lose weight but the fat in some of those foods seems to help a lot of people on this board to stay full. I have otherwise been mixing fiber in with my protein shakes and puddings.
