Aetna - Approved Today

Recommended Posts

Faxed to Aetna late in the day on 10/31.

Yesterday they said it went to the medical director in the a.m.

Today at 8:30am I am approved.

Hallelujah!

I still can't believe this is really going to happen.

I keep thinking something is going to go wrong.

I had lost all hope of a "normal" life for so so long.

Checking all the boxes for the tests and stuff helps. I had my labs last week, EGD on Tuesday. Today I'm having my stress test, EKG, and chest X-ray. On the 27th I have my gallbladder ultrasound and my 3 hour info. class. Currently have a surgery date of 12/18 but I'm begging to get it moved one week closer to sometime the week of the 10th.

Praying nothing goes wrong.

I'm so happy for you, i have aetna too(well soon cobra) i'm going through the process now. Did you do the 3months diet? Is ur bmi 40? Did you have to show that your bmi has been 40 for 2 yrs or do they just need 2 years of weight history? I have so many questions lol... i'm so happy for you hearing all these approval from aetna makes me have hope :)

Ask anything!

Yes, I did the 90 day program.

My BMI is 41, but has not been for the last 2 years. Maybe 38-39?

They just need a documented date and weight for each of the 2 previous years, probably over 35 I'm guessing, but it didn't really say.

Ok. I am having the same problem. The Biatric Center is requesting 2yrs of my weight history. They also asked me if I was at the same weight like I am now with a BMI 41. The insurance rep said my weight for the past 2yts couldn't show less then 280 or I wouldn't qualify. I am a big scared. I will see if I can find those records through my primary care doc but if I can't what should or can I do? I am schedule for my third visit in December. The closer the more nervousness I get.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
