Beliteweight And Dr Rodriguez

Recommended Posts

Dr Rod was my dr twice. Once in Acuna and once in Juarez. I highly recommend him. My issues with the band had nothing to do with the surgeons or care received in MX. I'm getting sleeved by Dr ponce de leon only because I fear the Juarez area now. Dr Rod does come to TJ, but not often enough for my schedule. The hospital and care in Juarez is equal to a 5 star hotel. Dr Rod and stafff are excellent. I can't recall if I went through Beliteweight. My first cord was Barbra and the second time I went directly through Dr Rod. Good luck

Thank you. I'm scheduled for TJ on Jan 24th. I haven't found any bad reviews online but I don't seem to find many people on this forum who have used him so its helps to hear from you. I appreciate it :)

I would love to hear from anyone who has used "Beliteweight"/Dr Rodriguez.

Please and thank you <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I went through belite & dr. Rod in July 2008 (Juarez), he did my lap-band. He was a great doc & my care, like the previous poster, was 5-star :). Also my coordinator was Jessica.

I just had my band-to-sleeve revision in June this year with dr.ponce & trish was my coordinator:) an I'm doing GREAT!

Omg! I am getting sleeved by Dr. Rod and his staff this Thursday. I went through BeLiteWeight and everything. My patient facilitator is Teri(She seems super nice and has the kindest voice.). I'm kinda scared though because I'm going alone. I can follow up with you if you like.

Thx girl, I will definitely follow up with you. Now I just need to talk myself into getting on the plane tomorrow, lol. I have heard nothing, but great things about Dr. Rod not one negative comment. The only thing is that when I call Teri it can be kind of hard to get ahold of her, but I always end up talking to her when in a couple of hours or that same day, lol. I actually have kind of been blowing her phone up because my family is driving me crazy with all their questions and all this your are gonna die mess. So in turn I been a nervous, freaked out mess. lol, I am just hoping for the best. I know all the reasons for why I'm doing this and everyday I just keep that in mind which is driving me to pursue this journey. No one has to live this life, but me and I need to make the best out of it. Will be in contact girl!! Toodles!!

Dr. Rod is a great choice! His credentials are outstanding and a lot of his certification and post doctoral education was in the states!

Good luck with your surgery tomorrow!! Take one step at a time, and you will be fine.

Hey all, sorry I didn't update you sooner. Anywho, it all went great!! I arrived Wednesday night and the driver Alberto, picked me up in a black Lexus. Now that's not the normal car they use it's actually Joanne the owner's car. I think someone else was using the Blue Van. He took me across the border with not problems. That night I sat down at a taco stand with the owner in Mexico and she bought me my last meal before my operations the next morning. It was so nice!! Being outside in Mexico enjoying some taco's and just talking with Joanne. She really put my mind at ease about the operation and she was even there when I woke up post-op. She's a real sweet woman. Don't believe what you here people say about Mexico. I didn't get to see Dr. Rod that much, but he's really busy. He stopped in my room before the surgery and asked me if I had any questions and I also saw him before I left the hospital. If you have any questions for you he will stop and answere them though. I couldn't really think of anything and Joanne had pretty much told me everything I needed to know. She stayed at the hospital with me and the other patients until the last day. I was really happy she did that since I had came to Mexico by myself. The nurses were great they took really good care of me. I saw like 5 different doctors. They all kept checking on me and I saw them everyday. Some were kind of cute too, lol. Anywho, I made some friends while I was in the hospital as well. The ladies who were there were real nice. It was nice to have someone there going through the same things you're going through. I saw Dr. Elmo who is Dr. Rod's assistant during the surgery, I saw him more than I saw Dr. Rod. Dr. Elmo answered more of my questions when I could think of some. He was really nice as well. Although, some of the nurses didn't speak good english or couldn't speak any english at all. I always got my needs met without to much complication. On my last day though when they were taking me to the airport, they got me there to late and I missed my flight. I told Joanne and she had Jamie who handles financials at belite. My air provider got me on another flight the next day and Jamie paid for my hotel and cab fees. Which was great so I didn't loose any money. All in all everything went great.

As for being sleeved, the first day out of the operations was pretty rough. The gas pains and being post-op made me real uncomfortable, but I had to realized I did just have major surgery done. The second day I didn't feel to much better. I was really in pain, but the gas they filled me with when they operated on my tummy was real bothersome. I walked a lot, they said it would help relieve a lot of the gas pain, but no matter what I did it seemed as though it wasn't getting any better. I even took gas-x strips people on this forum had recommended it and that it would help. That was just a whole lot of bull because the day of surgery and the day after I was taking them and it wasn't doing a thing. I had the surgery Thursday, so Thursday and Friday were the roughest days for me. By Saturday though, I was feeling much better. By Monday, I was feeling so good I even went to class (I'm in college right now.). Now I'm one week and one day post-op and I feel just fine. Hope this helped guys!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
