Thanks ladies!! :) She was a long time in the making...

My husband and I tried for over a year to get pregnant back in 2009-2010. We finally were told to see a fertility specialist. I was informed that I had PCOS and we were going to have to do treatments. After 3 rounds of IUI, I was pregnant!

Unfortunately, we had an awful and catastrophic pregnancy. I delivered our twins at 24 weeks gestation and they were just too young and tiny to survive for long. We ended up losing both our son and daughter after only a month of life.

After the loss of our children, we took a break and got our lives back together. Not long after our loss, I had the sleeve. I lost 115 pounds in 13 months and then SURPRISE!!! Without even trying or planning on it...we found out we were pregnant! Ha! Quite a shocker! :) We were thrilled!!!

I had an amazing pregnancy, and have birth to our beautiful baby girl at 36 weeks gestation. She's amazing!

Like I said... I gained 65 pounds during the pregnancy. My appetite certainly increased during the pregnancy. I are much more frequently and small meals. I noticed that my capacity increased as well.. Whereas I could eat an entire sandwich instead of just a half of a sandwich. All of the sleeve rules go out the window when pregnant. I was starving and ate constantly....which is probably why I gained the 65! But...baby is here and happy and healthy and chubby! :)

I've already lost 30 pounds but obviously still have some more to go to get to where I was pre-pregnancy. I am breast feeding and my appetite is still increased. Breast feeding burns a ton of calories and I find myself most hungry after a feeding.

I have slowly started applying the rules again, but there are days where I feel famished. I assume due to the breast feeding.

Any advice that any of you have on getting back on track post baby and breast feeding will be appreciated!

So glad to be on this forum surrounded by support!

:D

Thank you!! :) We are so thrilled :)

Now...to lose this baby weight and get back on track!! It's a bit discouraging o lose so much weight then gain 65lbs during the pregnancy. All for a good cause of course, but still. I know that I'm only 6 weeks post delivery but, I'm eager to get back on track.

Anyone out there have a baby that had sleeve? I know there are a ton of you currently pregnant or trying to get pregnant... I wish you ALL the best of luck trying! Have fun! ;) Feel free to ask me questions about what happens during pregnancy after sleeve an all that!

I just had my sleeve but I've had 3 girls before the sleeve. If you are nursing that helps. Also as soon as you can start working out and wear a girdle to tighten your stomach area while its healing. That's what I did anyway. Focus (I know you do) on that cutie and you won't think.so much about the food. Enjoy her while she's little the time passes so fast.

Thanks :) I am nursing so I know hats helping. Although I've heard that eventually tour body starts holding on to the fat for the milk...?? And I'm still wearing my belly band from when I was pregnant early on. It holds everything together...

Ohh I am certainly focusing on her, she's amazing. I couldn't love anything more! :)

Congrats on your new addition. I had the sleeve Feb 2010 and lost 100 lbs (30 lbs shy of my goal weight) I am now 14 wks along and my doctor said he only wanted me to gain 15 - 25 lbs but I find myself jus like you with the eating.

I find myself eating a whole sandwich or salad or a breast of chicken, which before I could only eat a 3rd of that. I am so afraid of gaining to much weight and not being able to get it off after delivery. I look forward to replies about this topic.

Yay!!! Congrats butterfly!! How exciting!! :)

Eh. That 15-25lbs weight gain is for "normal" pregnancies. If I may say... We aren't normal lol. We are modified. ;) My doctor saw no issue with me gaining the 65. She had the bypass years ago and I thank her for recommending the surgery to me!!

The surgery is permanent.. We WILL lose the weight, it's just a matter of when! My appetite has already started to go back to the way it was before the pregnancy. What I want to know is....when does it go back to the way it was completely and how does breast feeding facto in? Helpful or hurtful in the weight loss process?

Enjoy the pregnancy! :) hoping someone replies who has had the sleeve and a baby and Is back on track ;)

I sure hope someone replies and gives some insight & yes we aren't normal. I do have health issues. I've had a stroke (not related to vsg) I have preclampsia and my last pregnancy my daughter was born with a heart defect. I also suffer from a major anxeity disorder. So there are many concerns but God has blessed us both with new additions and all will be well. Good luck to you and God Bless.

3/19 - It wasn't a bad day I stayed up quite a bit much of the day. Have to focus on walking more before it gets too hot to walk outside at all.   Pain was less, but insomnia has kicked in the last two nights

2019 - A New Year and a New Start on life!!!!
On 3/14 - I went into the Hospital at 6am to have my surgery <the sleeve>.   My weigh at that time was 278 pounds.   On this day I was in and out of it I don't remember a whole lot I just remember being in a lot of pain.
On 3/15 - They made me get up and walk a few times in the middle of the night and walk doctor came in and I was able to be discharged if I was eating and doing everything on his little checklist.   I went home at 6pm.  All I remember was going home crawling into bed and taking more pain medicine it felt like I got hit in the stomach about 50 times.
On 3/16 - I know they say that walking is the best thing you can do after having surgeries but I was not feeling it at all every time I sat up, I got dizzy needless to say this day I didn't get much walking in and the smell of food just made me gag.  I couldn't even take the pain medicine that was in liquid form.  I stayed in bed for most of the day.
On 3/17 - I did a lot better on this day I was actually able to eat a little bit of Jell-O and drink a little bit of broth.    Still can't seem to take that pain medicine without wanting to gag.   I definitely have been able to keep down water and even had my nephew take a little bit of Crystal Light and some ice chips and mix it in a bullet to make like a slushie.  That was yummy!
This brings me to today 3/18 - I have been trying to drink protein water to get protein in my body. I was able to eat some Jell-O today and keep it down. I also was able to sit up for 5 hours and was able to be sociable again.  I was also finally able to take some pain medicine again without gagging <Thank God>.     Pain is slowly going away.   I have my first one week doctor visit on 3/20 so we will see how that goes
