OMG Hic-Ups

Recommended Posts

I dont think I am eating to fast or whatever. Heres the issue I have been getting hiccups almost every day. I was just sitting here drinking Water and have not eaten in hours because its about time for dinner soon and here they come again. I think I must get them AT LEAST 2 times a day and they last forever. I try all the old remedies to get rid of them everything from holding my breath to standing on my head. Anyone else have this issue or know why this horrid little monster won't leave me alone.

Hey Gummiebear...I get them too and then alot of times I get this "gurgle" or growl like sound from my esophagus. People close by can hear it. I know I'm eating right-tiny bites, chew, chew, chew and then some. I was banded in May and my last fill was Aug. 31. They told me I was tight and slow to empty and had a tiny bit of reflux with the last picture they took at the fill appt, but thought I would do fine. ( I drive 10 hours to see my Doc for my fills-Spivak) I asked them to get me tight so I wouldn't have to go so often...I'm still tight. Sometimes it late in the day before I can get anything down. Like tonight, I started trying to get a 3-4oz hamburger patty down about 6pm and just accomplished it. And that's all I've eat!!! The disappointing thing is I've been at a standstill for about 5 weeks now-no loss. Just thought I'd comment. Thanks

I get them much more now than I ever did pre-band. I don't know what causes them. And, when I am eating, I will get a tiny hiccup, and I know I better not take another bite. For some reason, that is my bodies warning sign that if I take one more bite, I am going to PB.

I no something on how to get rid of hiccups and it really works. A doctor at the hospital told me to do this, get a glass of Water turn your head upside down and drink the water. I can't believe this really worked for me. Now being banded I hiccup whenever full but it never last. When I can't stop I do this and so far it works.

Good Luck!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
