Laying In The Hospital Bed.

Hello my name is Sarah. I turned 30 about a month ago and I was hoping to have my surgery the same day. My thought behind that: turning 30 scared the hell out of me and I thought giving myself the gift of health was perfect. Things didn't go as planned because you know, insurance. I have 2 little boys, 8 & 5, that mean the world to me and the reason for my surgery. I want to set a good example for them and be around to meet my grandchildren. I was scheduled for gastric bypass but was really wanting the sleeve. My insurance changed their guidelines on 9/24 and I was approved for the sleeve. Surgery was yesterday, 10/01/12. I am laying in the hospital bed extremely sore and tired. Yet all I can think of is being able to run and play with my kids. I can only imagine how great I'll feel when I drop this extra 100.

My doctor does both. He checks before he closes you up and the next day you have to do the barium swallow.

I've leaned to always ask for a phlebotomist or the head of the nurses. They know what they are doing. I'm sorry you had to go through that. It hurts! Feel better soon:))

I also have a question for guys. My surgeon said if things go ok I'll be in the hospital one night MAYBE two. The releasing is a little quicker as the procedure is for laparoscopically AND with the DaVinci robot. But what did you guys pack? I know I have to walk right after surgery but I don't know if I should bring my own pjs? What kind of bra? Houseshoes? Toiletries? Protein stuff and supplements? Thanks in advance!

Liz

All I brought was my pj's , slippers and a Robe for when I had to walk. I was more comfortable in my own pj's but you may need help changing. I couldn't bend after to out my underwear on, lol.

Thank you. I still have a long way to go but I'm on the road.

So what and how much are you able to eat now

Gongrats and the best thing is having the energy and the ability to move gracefully with your children.

I eat a lot of grilled chicken and sliced turkey. Tried ground beef and it hurt. Really want a grilled chicken salad, but still to early for raw veggies.
