  1. I also eat Dannon Light &Fit, 80 calories, 12 grams of protein )breakfast), snack is a protein shake (70 calories, 15 grams protein), lunch was a slice ham and slice cheese rolled up, snack is apple and then supper usually 3 oz chicken and veg. Sometimes I forget to eat also....
  2. I'm going to try and answer some of your questions. I'm four weeks out. I too had a portion control problem and would OFTEN snack at night after everyone else went to bed. My husband is an awesome cook and having seconds was completely normal for me. So what is it like now? I look forward to mealtime! Especially dinner. I physically cannot eat like I used to. There's just no room. Your body will tell you if your eating too fast or too much. For me personally, my back starts to ache bad and gets increasingly worse until I throw up. Because of this, I've learned rather quickly to stop eating when my back STARTS to hurt. There's always tomorrow!!! I love spicy food too. Right now I'm in the puréed stage but I'm looking forward to regular food. On a side note, I've lost 26 pounds in 3.2 weeks and I'm feeling great!
  3. I think she means weeks out. Eventually they will want you to rely on food for all your nutrients. Some people still supplement with shakes anyways. I'm 4 weeks out and I'm still required to drink 2 shakes a day.
  4. Wow! I've never heard of a pre-op liquid diet being so long! The good news is that the shakes will keep you satisfied. Buy gum?
  5. Oregondaisy: I hope I heal like you!!
  6. I'm scheduled for feb 11th also. Pre-op diet has been easy for me because I am so sick with a cold, diahreah, even developed a hemorrhoid. I haven't even been able to drink my shakes. I'm supposed to have 4 a day. Today I had one. I'm trying to drink a lot of water because I don't want to become dehydrated. Hoping to feel better, this SUCKS!
  7. Hi, I'm Terry. I'm 5 feet tall with a starting weight of 260. Starting pre-op diet on Monday - will be sleeved on Feb. 11th.
  8. Caroline G. - good luck! I go to Miriam Hospital for support group
  9. Little Red 30 - congratulations!!! Wow, seriously how does it feel to lose the weight of a child???
  10. I'm Feb 11th too - start pre-op on Monday. Heard this was gonna be the hard part of the process...
  11. I didn't have to do this. They should have said something to you about what to wear for the procedure.
  12. What I feel in the inside is so different that how I actually look on the outside. I'm actually amazed that i am able to do as much as I do. Had my husband take my before pics today (front, side, back). He asked me if I wanted to see them. I said no. Later, when he wasn't around, I looked and was shocked (especially with the side view!) thank God I'm doing this! I will hang a 8x10 of that photo in my bedroom near my scale as a daily reminder to myself. Don't ever go back!!!
  13. You wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't meant to be. Prayers going out to you - you'll be awesome!!!
  14. Congratulations! I bet you feel great because you look great!! Keep on going!!!
  15. Wow, you look amazing!!! Congratulations on your success! I was on the fence but am leaning more and more to getting it done. You're inspiring
  16. Thank. You Frank for posting and all the good stories that followed. A couple days ago I was so freaked out that I was searching for "stomach transplants" on the Internet in case it goes really bad. I'm reassured now Just breathe!
  17. I went to Italy in 2007. It was THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE flight I ever took. The seats were so tiny! I hope your trip is comfy and you're able to do everything you want! My father and brother went to Botwana twice for vacation. They said it was AWESOME!!!
  18. Although we hate to admit it, it seems pretty common. I'm having sushi tomorrow (New Years Eve). It will be a very long time (if ever) that I get it again. I will savor it and then let good it. I promise not to over do it either. Just because I'm having it before my pre-op diet doesn't mean I'm going to stuff myself silly. It's just something I know I will miss (and I only eat the veggie ones). On January 3rd, i willdrinking chocolate shakes morning, noon and night. Misreading this part but I will make it thru. I have so much life to live that doesn't include food!!
