I have heard of people eating it. I never did because it sounded really unappealing. There are many other options if you decide you don't like it.

Heck NO! Why eat babyfood? Yuck. Did your surgeon suggest this? I haven't ever heard of people doing this.

Can you send me your surgeon's diet plan that lists baby food as an option? A hobby of mine is collecting various surgeons PostOp diet plans. Everyone is different but I have yet to hear of one suggesting babyfood.

Congrats on your upcoming surgery.

Fairfield Bariatrics on the CT gold coast, Dr Craig Floch. It is stage 3 week 3, pureed diet. Puree everything, but baby meats for Protein are a good alternative and high in protein. A 2 1/2 oz jar of chicken, turkey or beef has between 8 and 10 grams of protein. i don't see what the big deal is, on the go. It's not like forever.

No baby food for me...it was all too high in calories in my opinion. I ate a lot of refried Beans, scrambled eggs mushed up, mashed potatoes, and Soup.< /p>

I did meat baby food during my purée stage. Gerber was yucky, I think because they use Water. Beechnut was pretty good- for baby food.

Curious- pose-sleevers: Is it easier on your stomach for whatever you eat as a mushy to be moist? I'm assuming you want to move gently from clear to opaque to pureed and then finally to reg. food. I like the retried Beans example- at least they are a flavorful alternative. I think I'll make homemade Soups with beans (like escarole or minestrone) and purée it- if I'm permitted the ingredients, of course!

Beechnut baby chicken in chicken broth 2 1/2 oz is 8 g of Protein and 50 calories.

Beef is 70 calories and 9 grams of Protein

Not a lot of calories for the amount

Mushies is a week. Can only eat about 3 oz of Protein per meal anyway. Add some Condiments and baby meats arent that bad...honestly, it's just a week

I am going to differ with you here RN. I HAVE had my surgery I am on my full liquids stage. I can guarantee you that I will be at this stage for at least one more week. Some progress slower and may stay at the puree stage longer. It is quite inappropriate to speak of which you have not experienced yet...........just my two cents.

I am entitled to an opinion about baby food, having raised 9 of them. Nothing inappropriate about that. Really?

I guess the ones I looked at had a lot more than that. I just meant too many calories for the quality. I always wanted my calories to go towards something yummy. After surgery you don't get to eat a lot so I wanted what I did eat to be good.

What I responded to had nothing to do with the baby food.< /p>

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
