Does anyone else wake up and feel incredibly nauseous? I'm 3 1/2 weeks post op and the past few mornings I've woken up and struggle to get my shake in. It's to the point I have to take a zofran

Unfortunately this does happen to some of us.. Keep your surgeon up to date on the nausea and they can try to help you find a solution. You may also try sipping on something hot like coffee or peppermint tea(peppermint is good for nausea). I know it's hard but try to eat something dry in the mornings.. Crackers or dry crunchy Cereal to help keep stomach acid at bay. Stay away from milk.. If it doesn't affect you.. Stay away from it just in the mornings. My doc has me taking a phenegran just before bed and it seems to help a little. Keep taking the Prilosec or Prevacid routinely as excess acid can cause nausea. Some of us have figured out ways that work for our bodies but everyone is different. I'm still searching for my magical combination to help mine, but these are things my doc suggested to try.

It will get better (everyone says it will). My doc also told me when I was having major troubles w getting liquids in, to try things like Gatorade... Yes it has calories but a few extra calories is better than dehydration.

If the Protein shakes make it worse try a Protein Bar. Also make sure to chew chew chew! food that is not chewed well enough may try to come back up.

Hope this helps! Good luck to you!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
