Hi simplybirdie, I know exactly what you mean. I'm nervous & excited to. I didn't realize all the emotions this could involve. Good luck to you as well. I will say a lil prayer for both of us.

30 days away girls! As nervous as I am getting, I'm excited! As it gets closer and closer I start to become a nervous wreck! I won't sleep the night before surgery either.

October 29th, also! I'm encountering my first milestone tomorrow -- the start of the two-week Clear liquids and Protein shake Liver Shrinking Diet (I'm calling it my LSD, because I might get a little crazy). I'm trying to focus on schoolwork, cleaning the apartment and meditation. Okay so the meditation isn't going great but Netflix had a documentary about the Buddha.

Anyone else worried about maintaining a similar heightened state of distraction until the surgery?

I am also Oct 29th and so nervous! Have done well this week on my pre-op diet but don't feel very well--headaches and body aches, presumably from the withdrawal of all the foods I used to eat! My pre op diet allows for Breakfast of an egg and whole grain toast, then a protien shake for lunch, then a serving I Protein and a green veggie for dinner...much less restrictive than I have seen others....I go for my pre-op at the hospital on Tuesday!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
