I was done there for a band removal in June and wii be there for my sleeve in December. I went alone and so did another gal. It's safe, comfortable and about the best experience you can imagine for abdominal surgery. Dr. A and Dr. Campos are great.

No my husband went with me but I could have done it alone. I flew from FL. My only suggestion would be to bring a snack of some kind so after your blood work is done you can eat something. I got a headache since I was up early traveling and you can't eat anything until ou have your test.

Dr Aceves is really good and so are his entire team. I hope you have an unevevntful surgery and recovery like I did.

I was very scared too but it is well worth it.

Honestly, I feel great. The first couple of days were tough but they really baby you in the hospital. I hear about other sleevers getting surgery and being discharged the next day. I am so glad I had the extra days to relax and heal in the hospital. Went back to work today and all was well.

I had surgery on 8/31 with Frza. Dr Aceves and his staff are incredible. I was pretty nervous but they were so nice and friendly it really calmed me down. I went by myself but met Frza on this board and she helped a lot. If she hadn't been there, I know I would have been fine. They were just outside my door and came in seconds when I buzzed them, There were several other people in different stages of recovery. I was really glad to stay in the hospital and my hospital bed for my recovery.

Ernesto picks you up at the baggage claim and Carla greets you at the door when you arrive at the hospital. I had no pain and went back to work 5 days after surgery with no problems. My scars are so tiny and neat. Excellent experience.

Good point Amy! Even if you go alone it's likely you make friend's there. I really enjoyed the camaraderie amongst the patients.

Work was fine today. I feel real ly good!

Glad to hear you're doing good. Just take it slow. I keep having problems where I feel so good I start doing too much activity and wear myself out. No pain or anything, just whupped. It's hard, I feel almost back to normal, but my body reminds me every now and then that it's still recovering.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
