40 And Pregnant 7 Months Out

Recommended Posts

Can't believe I am pregnant. Definitely wasn't planned and I'm freaking out. I am 20 pounds from my weight goal. I'm really healthy not on any medications. Going to the doctor in two weeks. My youngest son is 14. I am so worried this baby won't make it to term. I would appreciate any positive advice or stories. No negative stories please I have enough negative thoughts going in my head.

I think it is great! I know it is normal to think the worst with all the crap going around about advanced maternal age. My Husbands mom was 44 when she had him...in 1968, unheard of back then. Sending positive thoughts your way, I believe pregnancy is a gift and happens for a reason, best of luck to you!

My Grandma had my Uncle when she was in her 40's. My Dad was 16 then, he was dating my Mom and they took him out and they had fun having a young brother to watch out for. Good luck to you!

I have a positive story for you:) MY good friend who has had the surgery was telling me about her good friend who had been a mentor to her. She was late 30's and went in for weightloss surgery everything went well but after surgery her nausia never stopped. After a month post op her husband brought home a pregnancy test on a "feeling" and sure enough she was pregnant. she had a super healthy boy who is now 6. I am sure you will be great, especially being 7 months out! Congratulations on your new gift!

I haven't had a pregnancy before - sleeved or not, but I just wanted to say congratulations! I know you're worried, but I've read quite a few posts on this board and obesity help about people with VSG carrying to term and I've known women a bit older than you who have had wonderful pregnancies. I wish you all the best - I'll keep you in my thoughts!

I will definitely keep you guys updated. This forum helped me so much at the time of my surgery. While you have friends and family to talk to its so much better to talk to people who have gone through the same thing.

My MIL had her youngest when she was 40 he is16. It all works out fine. The funny thing is we joke about how he was so young when I entered the family that he does't remember much with me not being around.

Wow that means I have hope I will be 43 in Jan I just started the kaiser program and decided to do the sleeve. After two miscarriages and being overweight I thought that was the end of me being pregnant. I read some promising stories and I will pray to God I will have one after all the process. Thank you again for sharing. I will post more in the future.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
