My surgery was 8/16 and i am taking 4 weeks off. I work down on the docks and do alot of lifting, so my doctor wants to make sure i am fully healed.

How many days off from work do you need after surgery?

Surgery: 10/18/2012

I only took a week and a half. Surgery on 8/1 and went back 8/13. Depends on what you do.

I physically only needed the day of and day after off. However, you really really have to focus on getting in your water/liquids, ie 1oz every 12 mins. I ended up taking a week just to get to the point where I was cleared to drink like normal.

I agree. You dont really need much time off but then again, depends what you do for work amd also everyone heals differently. I just took the whole following week off because i could.. i mean why not, free vacation time... lol

I took 4 weeks off. I have a desk job - very cerebral but not much activity.

I went back to work on a Tuesday. I probably could have gone back the Thursday before, but I really couldn't comfortably make it through a day until then. Not due to pain, but rather the fatigue and the way it made me feel. So I guess I took 4 weeks, needed 3.5.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
