Under 180Lbs And Getting Sleeved, Anyone Else?

Anyone under 180lbs and getting sleeves?

I have recently started to feel a bit guilty about getting sleeved for being overweight but not obese.

I have other medical issues that have helped me make the decison to get sleeved, but I am curious

to see if there is anyone else in the same boat.

I had my sleeve at 175 at 5'3 so I was considered obese. I also had a lot of health issues. Don't feel bad for wanting to change your life. Must people are a bit heavier then us but you don't need to look at the numbers. Having weight loss surgery is a life changing event no matter if your 300lbs or 175. We all go through the same struggles when it comes to losing weight. I'm proud to have my sleeve done and I would do it again. If Your doctor says he is fine with doing it then go for it. It's actually harder for our weight group to lose weight because we don't have a lot to lose. Eventually your body will stop losing weight. Surgery is just a tool because you still have to get out there and exercise like everyone else. Good luck!

I was 184 and got the sleeve. I just kept gaining before I got it done. I'm 63 and am losing slowly. 6 weeks out and have lost 17 lb. I would do it again though!

Don't worry you will do Great! I was 200lbs. but suffered with high B/P and Diabetes and that was my reason for doing it. I had a lot of people saying...your not big enough! That's why I kept it from people until I got close to my date. I am now FREE OF ALL MY MED'S...AMEN! I THANK GOD FOR THIS SURGERY AND YOU GUY'S ON THIS SITE!

I started this post long ago :) i am already sleeved as of Jan 2014. Had been having complications from it to deal with including a major surgery. Its hopefully behind me

When I had my revision surgery from band to sleeve I was 182 day of surgery. Don't feel bad for doing what you need to do to take care of yourself.

My surgery is $12,400 in Dallas. There are several medical loan companies you can work with

what is the name of these companies

Hi I'm Lori,

I'm 140 I had band removed because of issues. I'm waiting for sleeve approval. Don't ever feel guilty about wanting to improve yourself inside and outside. I can't do it alone I need the extra help with sleeve . I'm going to do most of the work the sleeve is just a tool so like a good carpenter you need the right tools to build an incredible piece of art. Good luck and no pressure from yourself on yourself , there are plenty of obstacles we deal with every day so make life easier for yourself don't feel guilty about anything ever lol .

Yay! Support Group for people like myself!

I have no words of wisdom to offer. I've finally made the decision to do the sleeve surgery and am eagerly waiting notification that surgeon has agreed to take on my case. Scared I will be denied...Age 42, 5'5", 188lbs (yoyo between 178 and 198). My body likes 8's, lol...

My name is Lori, BTW. I'm in Northern California and awaiting approval from Dr. Garcia in Mexico.

I'm 180 (5'3") and hope to get to 175 by my surgery day on 4/11 (in Mexico). My lowest I've been was at 20 years old at 130 lbs, but Ive had a lifelong struggle with weight. My family has a history of obesity so I know my destiny. I've worked out regularly since my 20's but because of my love of food it's hard to lose and keep it off. I know the sleeve is the tool I need to control my portions, which I can't seem to control on my own. I'm ready and excited. I start my 2-week pre-op this Tuesday!
