  1. I am thinking of going back for a scar revision post trauma surgery
  2. Dr Cardenas must have a new hospital and recovery centre since I had my surgery there in 2014
  3. Congrats everyone and good luck.
  4. When I was sick yes but I am up now 15 pounds
  5. I started this post long ago i am already sleeved as of Jan 2014. Had been having complications from it to deal with including a major surgery. Its hopefully behind me
  6. My original surgery was in TJ Mexico my proceeding ones were in Canada. I had my scar opened because there was Fluid behind it. I am getting it packed every other day now.
  7. I ended up with emergency surgery. Leak reappeared and spleen abscess reactivated. My surgery was 5.5 hours. The stomach leak was fixed. Spleen fused to liver and pancreas so my spleen was removed along with a small piece of liver and pancreas. Due to the way sleeve was done they were able to just snip off a leakey piece of stomach. So far i am doing good.
  8. It took 2 months to close. My leak was right in the corner of esophugus and stomach near stitich line. They never thought it would heal and it did. Doctors don't to operate unless they have to so they like to wait at least 3 months between surgeries.
  9. It all depends where you go in Mexico. Mine was top of the line care and facility and cost me only 5500. I stayed at Recovery House with nurses and it was a licenced facility. You get what you pay for.
  10. I guess I did not update you all. My spleen abcsesshad a fistula going to a leak which is like a port that keeps passing Fluid back and forth. This was preventing any healing. Having a feeding tube through my nose and stomach going directly to my intestine has helped. I was not to have any fluid going through my mouth for 2 months so there would be no passage of fluid from stomach to abcess. eventually fistula closed up, abcess decresased in size and my drain from absess was removed or should I say I accedently yanked it out (ouch) and they decided not to put it back. My leak has sealed on my birthday March 29 I had my nose tube removed. I shocked all my doctors. Today I still have an abcess in my slpeen which is domant and it is 2.5 cm in size, I have CT scan every 6 months. It is causing me to be tired but I am healthy otherwise except I am loosing a lot of hair. I went down to 136 pounds and now I am up to 151. I still am eating more then I should but its getting better. This weoght has been stabilized for 2 months so I may be at my comfort weight. I had surgery before I moved to a smaller house and with a move and reno I am under pressure. It will be over soon .
  11. Where is your abcsess and yes healing takes a lot of energy out
  12. I have to dissapgree with you ladies on 40 pounds. I am a low bmi and have been struggling to loose weight. When I went to have my sleeve done I only had 40 pounds to loose and that was after I removed my band and was not able to loose it. It was worth it, leak and all. My abcsess has shrunk but still there, the leak is gone. My abscess is causeing my lack of energy and tiredness but it will eventually dry up amd my energy will return. I am doing great otherwise and looking great.
  13. I had mine in TJ. It was January 7th this year. I am from London Ontario
  14. Thank you for thinking of me. Anna hang in there. My team of doctors told me I was going to have my spleen removed and my stomach. I had a drain for my abcsess and a feeding tube through my nose. I was told this.month Iwould have surgery. Head oof the dr team said when henconsulted with bariatric surgeons they told him good luck with this case because it was so unusual. The leak was right at oseophugus. There was a fistula between spleen and stomach leak which means they were feeding off each other which would make it difficult to heal for one or the other. So my abcsess shrunk, fistula is gone and my Drain was removed. By miracle of God my leak was healed andnthat was just on Friday. My nose feed tube was supposed come oit monday but it was bothering me for the past 2nd weeks so bad. Yesterday I started gagging. Went to emerge and its out. Yesterday was my birthday and it was the best gift ever. With that said it was a bumpy road. My stomach and maybe my spleen are staying put. Anna I thought for sure my destiny was to have RNY to fix this problem and here I am. Please hang in there. Trust the process.
  15. Drs are joining small intestine to oseophugus
  16. ana hang in there. I don't have a stent as my Dr said it would not work for my case. I am loosing my stomach and spleen. As hard as it is we will make it through. RJ what treatment are u receiving?
  17. If you use Fitness Pal it has all the counts there, all you do is enter food
  18. I will be getting a stent also. I am talking to a lady on FB who has a stent because her stomach twisted. She may have to live with it. She told me her dr said the stent feels this way because its doing its work, protecting a leak. Every day you will feel better and better. I am scared, girl, I understand. We gotta hang in there, thats all we can do. Every day there is a new challenge and I break down then pick myself up. Its hard, I know but somehow we make it through. What was it like getting a stent in? Thats the part I am terrified about .
  19. I have not read anywhere about loosing your stomach with a leak. Has anyone had that experience? I have a abscess on my spleen and it is right beside the leak so they are "communicating" and therefore there is no improvement in my case. Cannot find any info on the net about fixing a leak that way.
