Under 180Lbs And Getting Sleeved, Anyone Else?

Recommended Posts

I'm 180 and 5'1" and I will be sleeved within the next two weeks. I cleared my endoscopy and stress test and can't wait to start my new life. At 64 years old, I don't want to waste another day!

Ok so I saw this post and I feel better.. For those under 200 how did you qualify? What kind of medical reasons? If I'm 199/200 and only have swollen feet, getting tired, break outs , will it be enough? I believe I actually have low blood pressure?! So would that be consisted?

I'm self pay. My insurance won't consider covering surgery on anyone with a BMI of less than 40.

I was a 35 BMI with severe sleep apnea and high cholesterol as the qualifying co-morbidities. If I hadn't qualified via insurance I would have self paid. I have fought a losing weight batter since the early 80's and had actually given up on losing weight until I heard about the sleeve. I'm strictly following my plan and 20 pounds from goal. I couldn't be happier!

I went through the Oband center and preop they gave me a six week plan which was in phases. Three days of Clear Liquids Protein and fluid goals, examples of what to have and a sample diet. Then two weeks of full liquids, then two weeks of puréed, then two weeks of soft solids, then modified regular diet. My daily goals are 64+ ounces of Fluid and 80 grams of protein. I track everything on Mynetdiary.com. That tracker tracks protein, fats, carbs, Water, exercise and weight. :-)

(Swiped from another thread). Here is a sample plan published on line:

Hi everyone! For those of you (like me) who can't wait to get our own manuals/plans from our surgeons or for those who have gone to Mexico and/or otherwise feel they did not get enough information for aftercare' date=' I found an online PDF to a patient care manual from Peachtree Bariatrics here in GA. Several people on this board have used this doctor, Dr. Titus Duncan. Although I will certainly follow MY surgeon's plan, it is nice to see a complete example of what to expect. It has useful info for before and after surgery. It gives food plans for the different stages. It also lists different medications that are okay or not okay. It is in PDF form. Hope others find this as helpful as I do! http://www.peachtree...ient-Manual.pdf

Hi everyone. I am 220 highest weight, 5'4". My husband is 6'1 and 300 lbs. We are taking this journey together. I am tired of dragging myself around, feeling so bad. I have HBP, pre-diabetic, and my husband is a type 2 diabetic 30 years. It is getting worse for him and very scary. We are finished with all classes and waiting for surgery date. Very nervous and excited. I was 175 lbs many years ago being 9 months pregnant, and felt like a whale. Now I can't seem to stop my weight climbing now that I just retired, and I want a LIFE! not a chair!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
