I have no history of mental illness or anything. He asked what procedure I was getting and if I had a history of mental illness in my family and I told him no. My visit only lasted 9 minutes. I was kind of mad that it, only lasted that time b/c I drove 1 1/2 hours one way to get to him. I was nervous on my way there but its no big deal.

everyone's eval is different. Mine was about 45 minutes from the moment i walked in the door. (probably spent 30 minutes with the Dr.)

We spoke about everything from the weather to my kids and the actual surgery.

Just be honest and don't sweat it. It's not a job interview. Go in relaxed and you'll be fine.

I agree, just be honest and don't over think things. My evaluation lasted about an hour but they made me take a test like I was in school. I felt like a little kid. But it was OK.

You wanted more info so I will tell you (and don't let it freak you out PLEASE) that I didn't "pass" my evaluation. They recommended that I continue with counseling because my self esteem was SO low (which they determined from the test I took). I went a couple more times and they approved me for surgery (obviously since I'm post-op) but I still go to the tharapist by my choice. I LOVE HER!! She loves me too and not just because my insurance pays her!! :)

I just had mine on Wednesday. I had to fill out 4 questionaires, which took about 30 minutes. Meeting with the Dr. was about 20 minutes. My appt was scheduled for 2 hrs 20 minutes...but only took about 50 minutes total. It wasn't stressful. They're just looking for signs of any addictions and if you understand the changes you'll be going through. I was nervous before it, but it was low key. Good luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
