Protein shakes making me nauseated

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys, I have only been banded for about nine days, and I cant stand the look, and the SMELL of slim fast, or Protein Powder. I just cant. I almost threw up today. I havent been getting much Protein maybe thirty grams. Any creamy, milky anything is making me just sick. I hate it. I wont even take coffee

I also take medication and its been making it difficult for me crushing up those FOUL medications and then having to take it like that.

any suggestions?

Have you tried unflavored Protein powder in juice? I mix it with OJ and some frozen strawberries, kind of frothy like an orange julius. I've been alternating that with a milk based Protein shake and that has been helping. I also put the unflavored in sf pudding for Protein pudding.< /p>

Some people also like Isopure bottles. They are fruit flavored.

I was the same as you! I cannot stomach slimfast or any of the thick stuff! I found Isopure!!! It's the consistency of gatorade! Has the 40 grams Protein in 180 calories! It comes in serveral flavors and a bottle will last for 2 servings - 20 grams each and only 90 calories... that's better than slimfast and all the others! You can buy it at GNC - readymade!!! My favorite flavor is the pineapple/orange/banana...

You can't have citrus until you are a month out.

The Isopure is a good idea thought, nutritionist told us to use it in place of cold Water when you are making Jell-O!

I was allowed any liquids, including citrus, after 10 days, each doctor has their own post-op diet. ~Mandy

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
