Protein Is There A Quick & Dirty Way Of Just Taking It Instead Drinking It?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone found something to mix in with Protein Powder so that you can just put it on a spoon and get it down quickly? If so, which Protein powder is the most tolerable taste wise? Sort of like cough Syrup -- it tastes gross but it's a couple of spoons and boom, it over.

Thanks everyone

Dana

Syntrax advertises that their Nectar® protien can be eaten straight without mixing it. I've never tried.

One thing I have done however is mix minimal coconut or almond milk into a chocolate flavored powder to the consistency of pudding and eat it in a few spoonfuls.

If you can chug I'd say chug - otherwise get the unflavored powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury and put it in a yogurt or similar small snack that's easy to eat.

Also, the EAS RTD drinks are pretty good with no funky after taste, and Publix brand Protein powder, Market Wise I think? That's not bad either.

Honestly, Protein powder is an individual thing. I had several that I enjoyed prior to surgery that I can no longer stand the sight/smell/taste of. I've not had an easy time with the pre-mixed liquids either. Perform a search and you will find many threads about Protein with people providing reviews of their favorites. I am trying Jay Robb next as he has an unflavored powder that I hope to mix into Soups.

Good luck!

If you just cannot stand Protein powders, I mean to the point that it keeps you from taking them I would suggest trying Chike Meal Replacements. You are gonna sacrifice a few calories, but they are very palatable the banana actually tastes like banana pudding to me.

You can change your title by your name to anything you want, in your settings.

Pro pudding by body tech is a good pudding for an alternative to Protein drinks. The Vitamin Shoppe sells it, or you can get it at Amazon the cheapest if you have to get it online.

there are also whey chips you can buy at vitacost.com. They are like little chocolate nuggets. I like to mix them in regular sf pudding or even eat it with milk like Cereal.

add Protein powder to 100g of 0% greek yoghurt, depending on your Protein powder this combination gives approx 30g of protein.

PS when you first add the powder and stir the yoghurt goes quite dry just keep on stirring and it comes good

If you are far enough past your surgery to be eating more real foods I think they are a better choice than the drinks and powders. I haven't used drinks or powders in months, still count my Protein and get in plenty by eating a diet of real food.< /p>

Are you sure about that? I've looked and I can't find any way to change mine. Perhaps it's a perk you're given once you reach a certain number of posts. I apparently haven't reached that number yet.

BTW.....Oregon is definitely my favorite state.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

And I guessing theres's not just a miracle Super Duper Protein PILL right? :) Wouldn't that be easy to manufacture?

Dana, Protein pills and Protein Shots are usually made from collagen and other sources that are not readily available to our sleeved bodies. Why gag down a pill or shot that isn't going to help you out nutritionally? Try mixing protein powder into other foods, as others have suggested, or check out the blog The World According to Eggface. She has a ton of recipes that are very tasty for Protein Shakes, protein Desserts, Soups, etc where you can mix powder into the food yet not gag from the taste. If you're on purees or soft foods, her Ricotta Bake is to die for and very simple to make! :)

This is what it looks like in safari. Should be the same in all full browsers.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
