My Sleeve Experience So Far

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am new to this forum and just recently had my surgery, July 26th. My surgeon was a Godsend, in that I had to switch surgeons last minute and thank goodness I found him. His name is Dr. Fakulujo and he has been wonderful. My first week out I lost ten pounds but only lost two the second week. This left me a little discouraged because I was expecting to loose more. However I was told that the more you need to loose the faster one looses. I have battled weight all of my life and have tried so many things. Recently the weight was causing health problems, I feel I am to young to face, that is why I opted to get the surgery. I am young at heart and will start exercising soon, already started some in the pool but taking it slowly. If there are any suggestions I am all ears. Please feel free to contact me.

Jen, you will NOT lose EVERY week, at first YES, but after a while the scale will bounce up and down.... do NOT get discouraged!!! PLEASE TRY to weigh only one time a month..... you will have times you will NOT LOSE lbs! BUT you will lose inches...... Take your measurements... DO NOT WEIGH WEEKLY.... focus on your Protein, Water, and vitamins... work out when you can........... at the END you will reach your goal...stay focused....... stay away from sugar.... "snacks" the OLD FOODs... you will reach GOAL, YOU WILL FEEL HAPPY, SATISFIED.... but you MUST follow the rules.ROCK THAT SLEEVE~ :)

Just keep eating right and exercise as much as you can. My surgeon said its very important to exercise now because you lose the most the first 6 months.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
