Hair Loss For People With Already Thin Hair

Recommended Posts

They have glue dissolver at beauty stores.

You can actually buy clip in tracks, or make your own. They are like $100 but I made my own for under $40. My friend told me about it and there are several youtube videos out that show you how to make them and put them in. You just buy the pack of 100% human hair, thread, a needle, and wig clips. I actually wore mine on Saturday to a wedding. You wash, comb, and style them just like they are your own.

In response to the general thread, I already had thin hair. I'm in my 5th month and am noticing more shedding. The front of my hair is very thin and I can see my scalp when I brush my hair back. I know this is partly because of genetics. I started taking Biotin this week. I hope it reduces the shedding.

you can't really cover the front of you head w/ the tracks, can you? Wouldn't you be able to see them?

No you can't. They do make lace front wigs that make it look like you have a natural hair line. I'm not a wig person but I do own one. It's synthetic though so I can't style it.

Yea I made my own clip ins. I bought the hair, clips, needle and thread. I can't use them anymore because my hair is too long :(

My hair was thin before but not too too bad, see more scalp than I'd like for sure. I was really worried when mine started really shedding pretty bad about 3 months out. Now I just made 6 months and it basically stopped falling out over night! Needless to say I'm greatful! I have been taking Biotin and prenatal Vitamins since 3 months BEFORE I had surgery also who knows if it helped or not...I could be way thinner by now I guess.

I've been bald for years. You should all give it a try. The savings on Shampoo and conditioner are no joke.

I couldn't deal with the Hair loss anymore so I chopped it all off. It was so freeing and liberating. I was losing clumps and clumps of hair. Now I can take care of it and nurse it back to health. I put a blend of Jamaican castor oil, avocado oil, coconut and jojoba oil on my scalp every night and I'm already starting to see a difference in my hair growing back. It was the best thing I could have ever done.

I am at month 16/17 and none of my hair has grown back. You can get cheap clip in tracks on ebay. I wear them all the time. I don't do all the clips but just two rows works for me.

This is my second biggest fear. I've heard that it's because of a lack of Protein. I don't know if that's true or not, but I am going to make sure I get enough protein. My surgery is October 26th. I don't think I could wear a wig or use those clips. My hair is naturally curly and in my opinion it is thin right in front. I started taking collagen about 3 weeks ago, but I'm only taking 1/2 of the required dose because the pill are huge. I'm going to have to get a pill crusher to continue to take them after my surgery. Has anyone tried collagen or does anyone know if protein has an effect on Hair loss?

Sometimes (many times) even adequate Protein doesn't prevent it. Our bodies just get shocked from the rapid weight loss and Hair loss is a side effect.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
