  2. Congratulations livingmylife! I was sleeved less than 5 months ago. It was a little rough at first, but it all well now. I've lost 77 lbs and I've gone from a size 22 to a size 14. You can do it!
  3. Shae, I know you left this message in 2011 so I don't know if you're still on this thread, but I'm from Hattiesburg. I'm having my surgery Friday (October 26, 2012) in Pascagoula. I was wondering who your doctor was and how you're doing these days. I know there's a support grout at South MS Surgery Center in Ocean Springs.

  6. This is my second biggest fear. I've heard that it's because of a lack of protein. I don't know if that's true or not, but I am going to make sure I get enough protein. My surgery is October 26th. I don't think I could wear a wig or use those clips. My hair is naturally curly and in my opinion it is thin right in front. I started taking collagen about 3 weeks ago, but I'm only taking 1/2 of the required dose because the pill are huge. I'm going to have to get a pill crusher to continue to take them after my surgery. Has anyone tried collagen or does anyone know if protein has an effect on hair loss?
  7. Anthony, I am very concerned about my upper arms, belly & inner thighs especially because of my age. My surgery is October 26th. I've been practicing yoga 2 to 3 times weekly for almost 2 years & I walk 3 to 4 days a week. I'm sure I'll need to join a gym, but I haven't worked out with weights in 18 years and in feeling very intimidated. I'd love to learn what I can do to prevent any sagging skin. I will look for you on FB. Thanks for your post.

  10. I live in Hattiesburg, but I'm having my surgery on the coast on October 26th. It'd be great to meet some local folks.
  11. I'm October 26! Hope those of you who have already had your surgery are doing well and that those of you who are still waiting hear good new soon.
  12. Prayers for all of you. I will be watch y'all progress. I'm sure each of you will do well.
  13. I'm glad you are feeling better about your surgery after your appointment. I also love how much support you're getting from this community. My surgery is on the 26th so I'm sure I'll start freaking out pretty soon. I think the pro and con list is a great idea, and your right, you can be fat and happy now. But are you healthy? Will you be happy and healthy one year from now, five years from now? I don't know how old you are, but trust me, I wish I had know about this surgery 15 years ago or rather I wish I was 15 years younger. The bypass surgery scared me so I decided to keep trying on my own. Then there was the band, which looked **** at first, but then the more I looked into it the less safe it seemed. I really do feel like this is the safest, most effective surgical option. I hope you do well with you surgery.
  14. Why do you have to have blood gasses drawn? Is it a part of your preop test?
