Has anybody used magnesium citrate to cleanse their colon before surgery? Were you glad you did it? My doctor is not requiring it, but doesn't disapprove. One of my friends did it before her surgery. What do you guys think?

It gives the Dr a clear view of your system, you should drink it the day before your surgery, but get a book and stay close to the toilet. good luck.

I was told three days before which is also when I have to start Clear Liquids, it helps make sure there is no solid food in your stomach or system and it also can help a little bit with nausea, (which i will be on a plane on friday so I will be starting my clears tomorrow and taking my magnesium citrate tomorrow so that I don't have to worry about any problems on the plane) good luck

does it make you go when you aren't "going"?....I dunno what my issue is (stop reading here if this is TMI), but I am not going and since I have been having green leafy veggies, figure I should be....

so, if yes, where do I get it. Laxative didn't work.

I never took one single thing before surgery, and I didn't have to be on clear liquids or any type of pre op diet.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
