Your body is probably in shock from the surgery - that is a MAJOR surgery and shock to your system. Hang in there and focus on fluids and Protein. I am sure it will start to fall off soon. I would say if you haven't lost anything by day 10 call your surgeon's office.

I say throw away the scales!! It will come off and weighing often only causes stress.

I am 7 weeks out, and haven't lost any weight in almost 3 weeks. Does this subside? I get frustrated, and sometimes wish I never got the surgery b/c it's not doing me any good, but I know for a fact that this is the best decision i've ever made in my life. I think I'm a slow loser, but will not lose faith, anf know that this is just the beginning for me. Just know the weight will come off sooner or later, but it will come off.

Best wishes on you journey,

Sarinab73

I've always been a daily weigh in person. I don't get discouraged until too much time passes without a loss. Of course I'm hangin tough and looking forward to EVERYTHING :)

I came home from Mexico on day 5 post-op and had gained 2lbs. Very discouraging but I've now lost 10lbs since coming home. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks since surgery. Just keep doing what you're supposed to and you will see results. Good luck to you! :)

Well...day 10 and 1/2 pound down. Soooo disappointed. I'll call do tomorrow. Walking yes, average calories per day 800-900, Protein could use more but not too bad. Man I'm frustrated. Yesterday I had my shake (vitamin packed)in the morning, 8 oz cream of broccoli Soup, couple bites of avocado, 2 low sodium ritz crackers, and a skinny cow ice cream.

Seriously what gives, I'm seriously starting to feel like a failure :(

My surgeon gave me some tough love on my one month visit...not enough calories (at least 800) and not enough Protein (bare minimum 60g, better to shoot for 80+g). Our bodies are built

For survival and are preserving all resources when unde stress. You are at 10 days, not even two weeks. You body has been through a major shock. You were pumped full of chemicals and fluids. You are at great risk for dehydration at this point. Allow your sleeve to heal; take it easy on the food and focus on hydration and protein. When you can, up your calories with quality nutrition.

Maybe cut out the crackers all together. I still don't eat crackers and I'm 8 months out. I know some people can, and I am capable, I just don't. You, being so fresh from surgery, need to really work on getting in your Protein. It really will help your body bounce back. Get some Greek yogurt.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
