I'm adding Unjury Unflavored to my Soups for the protein...kinda tired of all the sweet Protein Drinks. I don't taste or smell the unflavored stuff at all when I add it.

I find most Protein shakes disgusting - but I have a few that I really like:

Syntrax Matrix Mint Cookie - mix with 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk - 24g Protein

Dymatize Elite Rich chocolate

Dymatize Elite Cafe Mocha

I like to mix 1/2 scoop of the chocolate & 1/2 scoop of the mocha with 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk. It is really good and 23g of protein

Protein is such a funny thing. It seems that everyone has preferences as to the brand. I spent a fortune trying to find the right one for me. I read a lot of people's posts and when possible, went and bought brands to try. The one I like the best is Muscle Milk Light in the chocolate flavor. It is thicker than some of the others, but it is called a "shake". To me, they are all sweet. At first, I didn't like Muscle Milk. After trying so many others, I realized that for me, the Muscle Milk worked the best. It has 150 calories and has 20 grams of protein. I tried the unflavored powder and It made my drink taste odd and have a grainy texture which disturbed me. I keep reading people mentioning the Unjury. Maybe I just bought a less desirable powder. I think I may try the unflavored unjury. I try my best to get 60 grams of protein a day. There are days I have more and there are days I have less. I know for sure that I wasn't getting enough protein before my sleeve because I am not much of a meat eater.

If you like coffee, I've heard Click's espresso mocha is very good.

Try adding unflavored Protein Powder to stuff. I bought beneprotein from Walgreens. One scoop is 6 grams of Protein. I can't stand more than one scoop in 4 ounces but I can handle that much in Soups and puddings.< /p>

Hi my husband is 14 days post op and seems to be doing great :) he takes premium Protein Shake in the morning, Protein fruit smoothie or muscle milk mid day, and home made Soups with chicken veggies blended into Soup n strained for dinner. Seems like he is taking in a decent amount of protein daily. keep up the good work everybody :)

I also have been trying different things for months even though Im only 14 days post op. One of the things I have discovered is that there is alot of protien (9 g) in some small jars of baby food. If u add a little seasoning they arent half bad. Even some of the baby fruit has 3 & 4 g in them. Also I have ordered protien lemonade which is not bad. My fav drink thus far though is good old SlimFast. I get the one with 20 g and its great. I dont think Im quite taking in 70 g a day but my legs have stopped hurting. I have experienced the muscle breakdown before and it is very painful so I am working hard at getting as much Protein as possible. Good luck!

I ate baby food during a previous weight loss attempt. It's true, the meats are low volume, high Protein. I liked the little meat sticks (10gm protein), very mushy once you bite into them.the meats are tiny jars 2.5oz 8 gm protein. Add the unflavored protien powder and a little Water to make it more slidey, and you have about 15 g protein in 4 oz.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
