When Did You Get Use To Liquids?

Recommended Posts

I'm on day one of my pre-op liquid diet and I want to know to know after how many weeks whether if you started way before surgery or after did just liquids alone become easier. Btw I know I can have SF Jello in the clear stage after surgery, but in the preop liquid phase do you know if I can have it now, including yogurt. I forgot to ask my surgeon.. Darn!

For pre-op, after the first three days (after all the sugar and carbs had left my system) it got much easier because the cravings were gone. I was allowed one of each per day; sugar free Jello, 6 oz low fat, low sugar yogurt or fat free cottage cheese. Those helped with the need to "eat something". I kept reminding myself that this was just a finite period of time before surgery and would help the surgeon do his job successfully without complications. I also needed to keep myself very busy to keep from thinking about food. Post op, it is easier because you are not hungry. However, by week two I was SICK AND TIRED of liquids and wanted texture and flavor. Cream Soups helped a little, but I was very happy to move beyond that stage! If I never see chicken broth again, it may be too soon! LOL

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
