Hey August Sleevers! Put Me On Your List! Aaahroo!

AaahRoo! I have a surgery date! I will be sleeved at last by Dr. Fernando Otero on August 14, 2012 at John Muir Hospital-Concord Campus CA. I'm very excited of course!! I'm hoping to find other August sleevers to treck the journey with. I'm so ready to get this weighted ball rolling you just don't know...

I've been putting on weight since the birth of my first child 20 years ago. Things really got out of hand when I seperated from the military in 2006. No limits,No mandatory runs,No mandatory weigh-ins makes Gr8rLuv a very big, bad girl :P !! Currently, I'm miserable...My joints-Achy wrists, back, hips, knees and ankles. sleep Apnea-I got it, Cpap-I wear it. I can't wait to get back to my normal...BMI,Weight, Activity,Sleep. I've lost enough time...I'm ready for the RESET button!!

Hello Everyone!

My name is Alia, and I will be having my sleeve done 23 August 2012. I am very nervous, yet excited at the same time. I cannot wait until the day arrives, so that I can begin my new life.

Today is the first day of my 2 week liquid diet. I am doing great so far.

Is anyone else going to Mexico for their sleeve the same time I am? Nice to meet everyone, feel free to say hello, and add me to your August sleeve list. :)

Newbie to the site, but loving all this info I get from everyone. I'm an August sleever as well. Aug 21st is my big day with Dr Srikanth at St Francis Hospital in Federal Way, WA. So so excited, thankfully nerves haven't kicked in just yet. But I can only imagine how I will feel on surgery day.

Yup! August 13th for me. Getting close!

Same day as me

Good Luck!

My surgery date is 8/23/12. Good luck to everyone here!

@ sweetqui, you and I have the same surgery date. Wishing you tons of luck. I hope everyone here has a successful journey.

Has anyone started their liquid diets yet? I have, and gosh, I never felt so empty before. I have been trying to fill up on protein shakes and broth. After I eat, at that particular time, it does fill me up, then shortly within 4 or 5 hours later, I am empty again. I hope everyone else is doing well with their diets whilst preparing for their surgeries. I am so thrilled about this journey that I am about to embark on. I cannot tell everyone enough, how long that I have waited for this upcoming event to arrive. Does everyone else have the butterflies yet?

I start my liquid diet tomorrow. My dr requires it 10 days before surgery. I did this a couple weeks ago as well and definitely had the empty feeling too. I drink a ton and ton of water to keep me full and try to keep myself occupied so I'm not thinking about the whole not eating part. I don't do much broth because it actually makes me feel sick after I drink it. Which is weird cause most people say it helps with the nauseousness and keeps them full. But then again when have I not been an odd ball. Lol my dr said if I get that hungry I can always add in a 4th protein shake. No butterflies yet but I know they will be coming. Getting so so excited. ????

Its great to see so many new pre-sleevers here. As we round out week 2 my thoughts go out to all of you that went before us. I can't wait to hear about your experiences....I've been watching every VSG journey I can find on 'YOUTUBE'. I have literally subscribed to over 100 Vsg vlogger channels. I ask questions and offer support...but no one elses story will compare...to our own.

Next week is my week...I'm excited and nervous. No pre-op diet(yea!) But I'll be NPO after midnight on 8/14. I work as a nurse at the hospital where my surgery will be performed, so I'll be getting off work at 7:30am and returning to preop at 9a. I find it better to keep my mind occupied at work than to sit at home and worry all night. I've been doing some last min. shopping and lots of housecleaning. My Dr says he wants me walkingin the halls within 2hrs after I'm out of surgery...I told him "GameOn"
