I was on puréed when I left the hospital. Every surgeon and NUT seems to give different advice. So listen to who you trust and, most importantly, listen to your body.
Personally, I would listen to a surgeon before a NUT. Then I would research what I was told.
(you can be unregistered in some places and get a job as a nutritionist. Even registered, the average qualification is a bachelor degree. Surgeons on the other hand are a product of at least 8 years of tertiary education.. And have more to lose if they get it wrong.)

Just curious as to what everyone's goal weight and size is ?! and how tall you are and your age <3
My surgeons goal weight is from 105-112-_- I personally think I will look sickly at that weight so I made my own personal goal of nothing bigger then a size 9 and a weight of 125 <3 I am 21 and stand at 5'4

wouldn't recommend those meals to anyone else, but boy they were good, don't regret - got on track soon enough before WLS
sleeve has been so good to me
good luck on your WLS next Wednesday 8/15/12

I was required to lose 15 pounds, and one day of pure liquids the night before surgery.

My pre-opt diet was just the day before. Just liquids etc. I did reduce portion sizes a couple of months before my surgery date to 1/2.

It really depends on a lot of things.....current weight, BMI, etc. I only had 24 hrs of clear liquids before surgery.
Just follow your specific doctor's plan. You can always ask him about his plan. I did and my dr does 2 weeks liquids for patients over 300lbs.
Best wishes and a speedy recovery!!!

It's really Dr. specific... I've read that some patients don't have any pre-op diet.. Just nothing the night before....

Yup, completely normal. Pretty much everybody goes through it. As far as controlling them, you can't. But what you can do is keep reading, you are about to be bombarded with people telling you how normal this is. This will help you accept te emotions and know that you are not alone.

I think you have made a great decision in getting the sleeve instead of the bypass. You won't have to worry about things like dumping syndrome, nutrient deficiencies, or weight re-gain like you could experience with the bypass. I've lost over 120 lbs in a year and feel great! I can eat anything and drink anything I want to, but I choose to eat healthy and maintain my weight loss. My life is so different now and I'm so much more active and happy. It was the best thing I've ever done for myself. Good luck to you!

    Hi Jasmine,
I was originally thinking of the lapband. I started my WLS info search on the internet and youtube. Once I read about the sleeve, I didn't consider anything else. I am 8 weeks post op, down 31lbs as of today. I feel great, and Im glad I had the surgery. My taste buds have changed, things really dont taste as good as they use to. " That's a good thing, right". Everyones different, what is easy and good to me, might make you gag. LOL!
