My Insurance Wont Tell Me If I'm Approved Is Yours The Same?

Recommended Posts

All of the paperwork were given on Monday (hopefully) so I wanted to see if my surgery was approved. I called them up and they said only the doctor would know. Is yours the same? I find that so strange. When should I call them up?

No, mine was not that way. I called them every day for months (my approval took 4 months). Your doc is not the insurances paying client, you are. Any information they have on you or your case is YOURS. There is nothing that they have that is to be withheld from you. The doctor can only have the information because you signed papers for them to have access to ALL of your records. Someone either doesn't know what they are talking about or they are just jerking your chain so you won't bother them.

I called every day for 5 days- the insurance co. was very up front with me. They told me where my paperwork was in the process- and once I was approved they also told me.

That's bananas, I would have had to tell them to report back to the nearest training facility....do not pass go, until they were more familiar with their duties.

I would keep following up with the insurance company. My insurance company does not even do pre-approvals, but instead waits to approve the claim until after the surgery, which I think is kinda shifty of them. I haven't gotten a bill or anything though, so we'll see how it works out. I hope they give you an answer soon. You may as well try calling your doctor's office once or twice to see if they do know what the status is. It can't hurt.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
