Let's see, it's 0840 west coast, 1140east coast. Wonder if an update is coming soon. Either way surgery should be over.

Welcome to your new life. :D

Well I am currently 10 hours post op. woke up feeling rather groggy but no bad pain. Only way I can describe it is on my left side slightly off centre I feel like someone has punched me really hard in the stomach. None of the other incision places hurt in the slightest. Have been allowed 30ml of Water every half an hour which is lovely and have saline drip in the back of my hand for other Fluid.

Like everyone else says the trapped wind/air in the body cavity is the worst thing. Initially had quite bad pain in my left shoulder from trapped air, which has now subsided. Been burping like a fool, and nurse has said that's really good.

Asked to get up and have walked the corridors of hospital 3 times so far

Got to stay in HDU overnight, but what service.... got a nurse all to myself!!

Hope everyone else who have been sleeved today has had a smooth ride, and best of luck to everyone who are having it done in the future.

So glad to hear you are doing so well. That left side pain is most likely where they took the stomach out of.

I wish you the best in the rest of your recovery. I hope all continues to go well. Thanks for the update.

Ok. Whew! LOL

So I had my procedure and was in a great deal of pain at first. I stared at the clock waiting for the 8 minutes to pass before I could press my pain med button again

I was groggy and pretty out of it.

I took several short naps and one substantial one. After that I got up to try walking but was so "intoxicated" that I could barely stand up. I used the ladies room and laid back down. I stopped taking the morphine and took another nap.

A couple hours after that, I was feeling much more with it and got myself up to use the ladies room and go out for a walk in the halls. Apparently I surprised everyone because they were all pretty impressed. LOL

So now I'm back in bed, sucking ice chips and sipping Water, waiting for my husband to return with my daughter

I wanted to post earlier but just couldn't get with it. Thank you so much for all the prayers, kind words, and encouragement. It really means a lot.

And congratulations to all the others that were sleeved today...We did it!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
