Dr. Eric Wilson in Houston? I am attending his seminar tomorrow with full intentions of having him perform my surgery. Any feedback would be appreciated. I am self-pay and am wondering about his costs also. We are not going to fight the insurance company, because the language pertaining to WLS is much the same for fertility treatments. We have been down the road with them so we know their drill. I just want to get this done and move on with life.

TIA!

Cyndy

Hi Cyndy,

I used Dr Hadar Spivak, but my closest friend used Dr Wilson and LOVES him! She says he's super nice and the staff is great too. She goes every 6 weeks for fill/adjustment, I think perhaps it's played a large role in her success (she's lost 90 lbs since Nov 2005)... that and working out at Curves M-F.

I'm attending the support group meeting tomorrow night at Memorial Hermann too! I think the seminar starts at 6:00, the "Bariatric Buddies" support group begins at 6:30 PM and it's for anyone interested who's had or considering bariatric surgery... there's always a mixture of band and bypass patients. I enjoy connecting with others and not feeling so alone. Last month a few people from the seminar same to sit in for a while. And, some of the people who've already had the surgery will go out to chat with seminar visitors.

All the best,

Karla

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
