I'm 6 months out & just got back from a really great trip to Disney. At 60 lbs down (halfway to goal) it was so much easier to walk. Last year I had to stop a lot to catch my breath & this year I led the family!

The highlight was riding the teacups with my kids. Last year I could hardly get in the teacup (had to basically step over the doorway cause I couldn't fit through it - and my stomach cut into the bar so my kids could not really turn it. This year I had no trouble just walking in, sitting down, & had about 8 inches to spare with the bar. My youngest shouted out "Mama I am so proud of you - your tummy won't slow us down anymore!" and I said "You are so right baby it won't slow us down ever again."

Btw I also "released" 3 lbs on this trip! (I don't say lost because I don't want to find it!) I guess from all the walking & extra water!

Love me sleeve & changing body!

That's awesome. Congratulations to you! And I really like the term "released", it shows empowerment. Keep up the great job. Thanks for sharing.

That is an awesome story! Congratulations!

I can't wait to go back to Universal's Islands of Adventures. The last time I was there, I had to stuff myself into the Harry Potter ride and almost had to get off because it made me very clausterphobic since I was pinned in so tightly. I also was completely humiliated because I was too big to ride the Incredible Hulk ride, even in the wide seat.

Glad you enjoyed your trip to Disney!!

Thanks Everyone! I just noticed I said love me sleeve 'lol - do love myself but meant to say my 'lol

Last year we did Universal but I couldn't click the Harry Potter seat at the entrance to the ride so I didn't try it - we didn't make it over there this trip but one day I will go back & ride it!!!! That will be another great NSV day!

Such an AWESOME NSV!!!

I went to disney in 2005 (2 weeks after gallbladder surgery LOL) and It was my first time and I had SO MUCH FUN! We are going back I think in September, my little brother will be 12 when we go(he was 6 when we went last) and this will be the most fun ever! I'm really hoping to go to Universal too this time.

I should be ok about 2 months post op to ride Right?

Thanks! I think you should be ok to go on rides 2 months out -but check with your doctor of course. You'll still be eating mostly soft stuff so you may have to bring your meals.

I'll do that when I talk to him tomorrow or see him day before surgery.

Glad you had such a great time!! I can't wait to go again!

I went to Disneyland and California Adventure a couple months ago. I could fit easily into EVERYTHING. It was such a huge relief and pleasure to just be like most everyone else and not have worry or even think about fitting on a ride.

Yay!! We did a trip to Disney in march and I got my pic with the characters right along with my kids!! I loved fitting in all the rides. It just made you feel so carefree and giddy at the same time didn't it???? Great job!!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
