Last night I was able to eat an entire red snapper with shrimp, 1/2 cup of mashed potatoes and 1 cup of cream corn. I never felt any restriction. I just stopped when I felt I had had enough, but I did eat quickly and did not have to chew thoroughly. Tonight I ate 1/4 lb boiled shrimp, 2 cups of crabmeat augratin, and a few bites of coleslaw. While these portions were still about 1/2 of what I would have eaten prior to surgery, (I could eat alot) they represent the largest meals I have to date and I felt no pain, no restriction, nothing. Boy I definitely going for my fill. I lost 1 pound this week.

Jessica -we have the same date - September 11 - I think I am in the morning around 10 but I will double check.

Serendipity- I think it's probably because none of us are filled yet so we don't have restriction.

Does anyone else feel like they are eating the same foods as before? I am eating smaller portions but I think it's more mental vs physical. I have eaten no food that make me feel like I have been banded.

Hi everyone

Sorry, I have been lost to the boards for awhile. Surgery went great, was healing well then had a severe allergic reaction to (we think) the antibiotic ointment. i also got adhesive burns, so for the last week, i have been miserable. I am finaly healing.

I have a large band so I have no restriction at all. I have my first fill nest week. I have not lost anyweigt since surgery. I am eating pretty normal for now. We will see after my fill.

Anyway, looking for support. I am weight watchering.

I have been feeling very hungry too!! I'm afraid of gaining any weight back but I know my Dr won't do a fill until I go 4 weeks without any weight loss. I can tell I have some restriction but I'm only supposed to eat 3oz of meat and 3oz of veggies but that doesnt fill me up and I 've gone back for a few more bites of chicken. I also have been having Snacks in between, I mean they are the snacks I'm allowed to have such as cottage cheese or yogurt, but still wish I didn't feel the need to snack in between meals. I am definitely eating a lot less than before surgery but not the amount that my doc wants me to eat.

OUCH!!!!!!!!!!

I have two medications that are time released so I can't crush them. One of them got stuck and it hurts sooooooooooo bad. :cry

I have just been doing nothing but sipping liquids to get it to pass. I read through the threads and someone suggested on a previous post to soak the time release pills first, so I will do this from now on.

I didn't know to soak it and it really really really hurts.

I'm sure I will be fine, I found a few people that had similar issues and they were fine, it just took time.

OOOOWWWWIIIIEEE.

Faybie....owwwwww. I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. Is it still stuck? YOu may want to call doc and get advice. I take two meds, too but they're so small that I can take them and they get through - so far. No fill yet though.

Thanks for the kudos. (blushing). I didn't tell you to brag but it sure feels nice to get the encouragement.

A whole week passed and no weight loss but I guess I should be happy that I didn't gain (my usual pattern).

It's nice to know we're not alone in our journey. Some of us will lose faster than others and it's easy to get impatient. I mean...we're probably eating about half of what we used to....shouldn't the weight just be flying off? Shouldn't we be melting? *sigh* Slow and steady wins the race.

keep up the good work everyone....our bodies are still adjusting to this huge change, give it some time. I'm sure the scale will be reflective of the decrease in the amount of foods taken in, remember how many YEARS its taken to get where we are, so be patient with it....THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN FOR US ALL!!-----HAVE A HAPPY LABOR DAY!!------

Diva Girl! That is great! I did not do so great. I have moved to solids but really moist solids. Sunday morning I couldn't take it anymore and I had some of my husband's leftover Pasta (spaghetti) cut up really small with loads of sauce and some grate cheese. I thought I would orgasm!!! (just kidding-sort of)

But I ate too much and didn't listen to my "full" feelings. Long story short-that freaking pasta is still with me. It is stuck. Not going up and not going down. Since 11:00 am yesterday. I posted for advice on the general lapband forum and got some good advice. (I love those guys) I am not in pain. It is uncomfortable and annoying. I can drink no problem so it is not blocking the stoma. I didn't slime nor PB. I kind of wish I had. I am taking papaya enzyme chewables and keeping to liquids. There is a ton of gurgling and few good substantial burps. I can kind of feel it trying to get down. And it is better than yesterday.

I even slept on my left side since someone told me to lay on my left side and that would help.

But like a ex-boyfriend-it refuses to leave without a fight. I had a piece of chicken (also really really small with a lot of gravy) get stuck in a similiar fashion. Called the doc about the chicken and she said stick it out. Don't try to throw up but if you do it is ok you won't hurt anything. She told me it would eventually go down and it did. So here I am. I've walked, stretched, held my breath and did the hoochie coochine and turned myself around. Thats what its all about.

I am so glad that you all are here! Sometimes I feel all by myself. I am quite shy and would never ever go talk with someone unless I really knew them first. You all are such a blessing to me!

I am feeling really great! I had my 40th birthday 8/25 and celebrated by having frozen yogurt. Tasted really good. So far I have lost 21 pounds :clap2: . I'm still eating mushies and using my cuisnart quite a bit. Not sure when I should even think of a fill.

Just wanted to check in with ya'll! Thanks for being so supportive!!:)

By October 1st I would like to be down another 8 pounds.

I don't know what happened, but I stopped getting messages, and had to hunt around for you guys again!

My surgery was August 10. I lost 20 pounds prior to surgery, and have lost another 19, so I am almost down 40 pounds. I am eating normal food now, and will have my first fill on the 21st. My hunger returned last week, so I can't wait until that fill. I had one episode of overeating (Benihana, and I didn't touch the rice and barely touched my entree) but I managed to keep it down. I notice that when I eat normally, I have a four-pound overnight weight gain, that goes away within the next day or so. Who knows what is going on inside. :confused:Anyway, this weekend was tough, because it was my daughter's birthday (therefore, Benihana) and we had a barbeque with food around all day. I didn't think that I ate that much, and last night all I had for dinner was half an ear of corn, a tiny sweet potato and some grilled veggies. Got on the scare this morning, was up four pounds - got on the scale this afternoon and I was up another two pounds! BUT, my clothes are getting too big! Of course, I had a lot of things that were too tight to begin with, and fit perfectly now, but some are just TOO BIG. Hooray!

Eileen

DIVA----please be carefull!! it sounds so scary. At least you know you can get fliuds in, I hope it passes soon. What I don't understand is HOW/WHY I just ate a whole bagel !?! I've said from day one I've had no restriction and I wish I did so badly. I didn't start out thinking 'I'm going to eat this bagel' but anyone who's ever had a N.Y. bagel......well it was just going to be a bite.......it was just so good to freakn' chew!!! and then it was gone. Am I going to hell? Does anyone else have these uncontrolable food issues? Its only been 11 days and the thought of doing serious damage to myself is not stoping me from this instant gradification in my mouth. I wish I would get sick from it, maybe it would put some sense into me. Anyone have any suggestions? (short of wiring my jaw shut)

LIBRA---- your are someone to watch on the board!! you kick that scale!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
