Soooo Tired, Does This Pass?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone

I was sleeved 30/05/12 so I'm 4 weeks post op. I get so tired very easily and was wondering if this passes. I'm barely managing the daily things like dishes, cooking, washing etc. Does this pass or is there something I can do to make myself feel better? I feel like I've recovered from the surgery ie. incisions and bruising healed and feel pretty back to normal again. Is my body adjusting to eating such small amounts of food? I have a liquid multi Vitamin that I'm not good at taking because I hate the taste even when I put it in a drink and I also take fish oil.

I'm completely lactose intolerant so only have lactose free milk in tea etc. I can't have Protein shakes even with lactose free milk because it makes me feel sick and nausea in general has been a problem. I am feeling better in this regard since my surgeon changed my medication to Nexium 40mg/day.

Any advice would be great.

Are you taking a B12 supplement?

Suggest you take a sublingal B12 suppliment twice a day. Sleevers do not absorb b12 as easily

I was really weak for a while, not getting in enough protien/nutients. You need to eat and find another Vitamin you can tolerate. Hate to be pushy but you did get this surgery to be healthier.

So, find something that works and stick to it. Eat to survive. Try adding some carbs for a week and see how it helps. Chewy Vitamins, childrens Vitamins, crushed vitamins...whatever lets you get what your body is crying out for to survive.

Hugs.

It's common to be tired and weak, remember that you've had a major surgery. The Vitamin B12 will definitely help, be sure to get your Protein. I remember getting tired again at about 3 months post surgery and it also lasted a couple of weeks.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
