Hello And I'm New To This! Looking For Success!

Recommended Posts

Hello, I just came across this sight. I'm totally new. Went for my seminor on Thursday. I've been thinking about this for years! I want a new life. Divorced for 19 years and now an empty nester, so I have to find myself again. Depressed because I'm so over weight. I don't go out, or buy clothes, etc. Basically I hide from life. I am so unhappy and I need a change. I know this is a lot of work. After researching this seems like it is a good tool. I need a jump start. Fortunately, my insurance does pay for this. It almost sounds too good to be true but I'm still not sure. I guess it's a little scary since I've hid behind my fat for some many years. What if this actually works and I do lose some weight? Then what? What if guys are interested in me again. lol That's a scary thought. Change is exciting yet also getting out of ones comfort zone. I would appreciate support here. I don't have it any where else. I'm told it's about a 90 process from the time of your seminar to get it all ready for the Big day. I'm 43 years old and I want to live again! This I feel is my only chance. I can't believe I wrote all that! lol anyway here goes nothing!!!

Olivia ... I hid behind my weight for years...due to medical problems, i new i had to do something ... i started researching weight loss surgery November 2011 and had surgery on May 2, 2012.... I, too worried about losing weight...always been heavy, but decided it was time to stop being invisible.....My only regret is that i didn't do it sooner... You found a great place to be Olivia - this forum is a crazy wealth of information and there are some amazing, supportive people here. I learned so much here and it helped me prepare for my sleeve date.

I totally get what you're explaining. A lot of the things you explained resonate with me. I am new to the VST community as well and so far the support has been amazing. Good luck in your journey :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
