I had my sleeve on April 16th. I have been on Prednisone since April '11 for a kidney problem. I have noticed that even though us sleevers have had our hunger hormone removed that I still get hungry, and i don't mean in my head hungry, I mean my sleeve growls. I eat every couple of hours. I am still losing weight but I am worried that when I go off the prednisone that the hunger thing will stick. Any advice or anyone else have this problem. When I said something to my surgeon about still being hungry, he just said he finds that hard to believe.

Any possibility that the prednisone combined with the sleeve may be causing the hunger? I remember prednisone's effects on me --even with the small dose prescribed I became both hungry and intensely irritable. Maybe your nutritionist could shed light on it?

BTW, I think your surgeon needs a course on "appropriate responses when hearing the out of the ordinary from patients." I hope he said that nicely at least.

That is what I think, or that is what my husband and I think. It does increase your appetite.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
