Had my op yesterday and not feeling very comfy today. I just threw up my pain meds which has hurt my tum. At the moment, I feel so bad. I hope this is all worth it ????.

At my psychologist visit, she said to warn those who would be helping me post-op, that I would be miserable and regret my decision... but that it would only last a day or two. It will get better! Hang in there.

Hi, My sleeve surgery was on Monday, I went into it not knowing if I was getting the bypass or sleeve. I had a lapband that failed so there was a lot of scar tissue

Oh you guys, I'm so sorry you are having a bad time right now. I swear to you all it does get better. The day I had surgery I was a superstar, I felt great, the next day was the worst for me. Every day is better than the day before and just try to walk when you can, ask for antinausea medication, take sips, ask for med cups to sip out of and try to find something that calms and cools your tummy. I like bigelow decaff peppermint tea.

I was in the hospital for 5 days and I had some complications during surgery. I just kept reminding myself that each day will be better than the day before and it was.

My prayers are with you all.

i had my surgery this past monday. i was up and moving and walking down the hospital hallways that evening (i have a high tollerance for pain i guess) and i was released the next day after the leak test.

i must say, the second day was a b***h. hard to move around, pain, temp was at 99 degrees F and it was hard to drink an ounce of Water every 15 minutes. today is friday and i feel almost 100% better. just make sure you walk around and use your pain and nausea meds that you were given. most importantly, WALK WALK WALK. by the 3rd day, it'll be easier to drink and hold liquids down. you will see a difference.

in the end, it is worth it. when i woke up the second day, i was thinking, what have i done? its the 4th day for me and i dont regret this decision at all!

hang in there. we are all here for ya!

I just can't stay awake. I'm nowhere near my Fluid allowance and feeling really weak. Can feel every single sip going in. Can't do more than three in a row. I feel thirsty enought to down a pint in one go but I know it won't happen. The pain is more discomfort than anything. Just had a little walk in the garden and burped for England which hurts a bit. Dissapointed to only be a pound lighter.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
