Finished all ins req in July then had pre op testing and class req by surgeon, and finally surgery date set for October 16th but gotta lose 13 pounds before surgery. Does anyone have to lose weight prior to surgery? What are your plans to do so, help!

I have to lose 5...I start Optifast on the 23rd

I have to lose 8lbs by 10/3 and have lost 4lbs this week by replacing one meal a day with MyloPlex Protein. It taste great and keeps me full for hours. And it has 42g of protein!!

10/18 where's my sleeve sister or brothers at??

All set for October 9th with Dr Lopez. I am nervous not so much about the surgery but more about what happens after. I've had a gastric bypass in 2000 and a reversal in 2001 and I currently have the band that doesn't work. I hope that this is just not one more failure on my end.

Wow your the first person I ever met that had a bypass reversal. Can you please tell me why u had it reversed in the first place?

Yes I have learned that I am quite the freak of nature. The Dr who did my reversal (and banding) though that the Dr who did the inital bybass nicked my lower intestine. He wanted to be on the safe side so he revesed it. I have to tell you that was the hardest thing to wae up from that and find out that it was reversed. I knew that it meant I was going to gain it back.

One of the reasons I cant wait for the sleeve is that I heard that it is like the bypass where you don't have the hunger.
