Almost 1 Year Need Help!

Recommended Posts

So...I had my gastric sleeve done July 26 2011 and I am feeling so down. The day I went in for surgery I weighed 250 I now weigh 189 so I have lost a total of 61lbs not what I expected and the last 2 months I have been 189 and I am not able to lose weight. I am still obese and I feel like I am always going to be overweight. I would like to know if anyone has has these stalls that last a few months? I know that my weight loss is suppose to slow down around this time, but is there anyway to get it going again? I really want this and I am tired of being overweight! I only have 50-60lbs to go and to me that is nothing because I had more than 100lbs before my surgery I feel so close yet so far away. AHHH someone help me!!!

Are you journaling your food? Do you know how many calories you are eating each day versus how many you are burning? Post your food intake and we can help you, but if you have been stalled for a few months you are eating too much or sitting too much, Sorry to be blunt but that's the truth. The good news is that you can continue to lose if you get back on track with the proper food and exercise. Don't give up!

I actually eat the same thing almost every day and the same amount

Breakfast

1 egg

1 bacon

lunch

1/2 cup lettuce

2 chicken slices

2 tbs spoon ranch

3 olives

1 onion slice

dinner

Usually the same as lunch

I walk on the treadmill 3-4x's a weeks 30min-1hr.

I'm not sure of calories or the carbs, Protein. I have been eating this since about 6 months ago and have lost weight between 4 an 6lbs a month. I can't afford alot and I have celiac diesease and its something I haven't got sick of yet. Maybe I will have to find out the calories and all that.

Yes--please weigh or measure each item and get the calories, carbs, and Protein. Are you taking your Vitamins and supplements and drinking enough Water?

Sucks. Get your thyroid checked. I started about the same as you at 244, I'm 2months out and 31 pounds down. How have you been losing since the beggining? Has it always been slow? There may be something going on.

maybe you need to go back to protien shakes for a few weeks to a month and try and break the stall. I see some need a reset.

One thing is that our bodies get used to routines & we sometimes need to trick it. Try eating your meals differently. Even if you eat the same thing, if you eat Breakfast for dinner or something like that, it can trick your body. Also, if you eat 100 calories or so more one day & then drop back down the next day & keep alternating calories, you'll keep your body guessing.

I also agree with tracking your calories so you know that you're getting the right amounts of Protein & limiting your carbs & getting enough Fluid. I use MyFitnessPal & so do many people here. If you make your food journal available for friends to see, you can get advice and ideas from others & from looking at other people's journals too.

I would also suggest adding in some weight training to your exercise routine. Cardio is important, but weights are too for overall health & weight loss & muscle strength & definition.

You could also try going "back to basics" with Protein drinks for a few days if you're not drinking them anymore or just to trick your body some by having more of them for a few days and less actual food.< /p>

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
