Does it hurt your butt? (the small seat). Don't get me wrong Yoda, I am not saying you have a big butt.

LOL LOL I'll try and not take it personally!!! LOL Actually the bike has a surprisingly big seat....the "recline" ones usually do.

Tried out my brand spankin' new recumbant bike today....I rode it for 50 minutes....which resulted in a distance of 20.5 km. Yahh Babbbyyy!! :)

It was pretty comfy although when I got off and stood up, my butt was sore! But it wasn't sore while I was using it!

Wow Yoda!!! it dosent bother your knee???

Cloe....I've been wearing a knee brace on the elliptical and so far so good (mind you, I'm also still taking the pills morning and night!).

I tried the bike with the brace but it was too uncomfortable....I couldn't get the brace adjusted so that it wouldn't rub the wrong way ....so I did it without and no problem....it's a different type of action on the knee though, so I think it will be ok without the brace when I'm on the bike.

Soooooo, hmmmmmmmmmmmm I seem to be having probs adjusting to my fill. It's like I'm having to "learn" or something all over again. This bites. Maybe it is because my last fill was in Aug and I forget how it feels or maybe it is because there is more restriction now (or combo of those)....but I have a "feeling" in there and I can't decipher it. I don't know if it is my "hungry" feeling, my "full" feeling, or my "ohmigawd, one more bite and I might PB feeling". *sigh*. It's making me very nervous....

Also, the last two nights (after I've gone to bed) I've had these horrible gurgle sounds that are VERY VERY VERY loud....at first it was hilarious...it sounded like a baby alien was screeching and trying to come out my mouth. Also, some of the times (not all) I get a bit of liquid coming up.....it wasn't so funny after it ended up disturbing my sleep for the past two nights. This has never happened to me before. I know it isn't acid reflux because it isn't burning or painful (like I'm told that condition is)....so not sure what it is and I hope it will go away soon. I really don't think I'm too tight...AND I'm not eating prior to going to bed or anything (& this goes on all through the night).....I know some liquid came up sometimes while I was sleeping, as I would wake up coughing/choking.

I talked to AngelBear and she said she experienced something similar and it went away after a week.....anyone else have something like this happen to them?

I tell ya that, and this continuous "feeling" in there.....I don't like it!! Do you think the feeling will go away.....did you guys have this sensation in there for several days past your fill (those of you that are well restricted, that is)?

Geez, just when I thought I had a handle on all this......bam!

:cry

Hi Yoda, I'm not to sure that I have experienced that feeling. I did however think, as I was reading, that maybe for the next few nights you should elevate your body a bit so your not caught off-guard in the middle of the night.

I'm not going to comment much more than that, cause I really don't think I have experienced that particular feeling.

Maybe just call the doc, in a few days if it persists???:phanvan

I have read about others having the same problem on other threads. You should do a search and see what you can find. I totally agree with cloe. elevate the head of your bed, choking in your sleep isnt good!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
