Hi All,

Every morning, I put my many Vitamins into a little bowl and we stare at each other. I usually start wtih one of the bigger, Multi Vitamins to make the amount in my bowl look smaller. But about once every two weeks, after I chew that multi, my mouth starts watering like crazy and I feel really dizzy. Then I have to sit with my head down and focus on swallowing all of the spit I'm producing and not passing out.

What the heck? Anyone else have this fun added to their mornings?

I never have this problem. I went to the health food store and purchased small capsule Vitamins or caplets. i just drink them with Water and then eat something. I can take up to 6 of my vitamins at a time with no difficulties. Now the larger tablet size vitamins I want even try. Hope this helps. :)

How far out of surgery are you? You might try a bite or two of cheese or yogurt before you try to take the Vitamins. The Protein will slow down the crash of sugar. I do take flintstones and don't have any problems but they don't taste great!

Dumping? Wow! It's not like I'm dipping them in chocolate first. I didn't realize that chewable bariatric Vitamin would cause dumping. I'm seven weeks out.

Great tip to have a bite of something else first. I usually want to get them down as fast as possible but sometimes that first one does me in.

Maybe when this enormous bottle of Vitamins is gone, I can try to find another kind.

Thanks for your ideas!

I take my Vitamins throughout the day. I have three chewable multi and 2 Calcium chews (love them!) and a weekly b-12. I take the multi-vitamins with my meals and the Calcium in between.

Sounds like you take a lot., Why so many and all at once?

I take min with food though out the day also. I have found if I drink something warm with them that helped in the beginning.

Kind of like ripping off a bandaid. If I get them all swallowed in the morning, I'm done for all day!

I take two chewable Multivitamins, 2 B-50 complex capsules, Vitamin D capsule, chewable probiotic, chewable Iron, sublingual B12, reflux med, and a birth control pill.

Then I have to chew 6 chewy Calcium squares a few hours later - but those are delicious so I'm not complaining about those!

My NUT said that Multi-vitamins are not effective unless you take them with food. Therefore, I take one of my Bariatric multi-vitamins with Breakfast and with dinner. I take them usually when I am half-way through each meal. I've not had any problems. I take my Iron at lunch with my food too. The other Vitamins I take are Biotin (because there's only 25% in my multi-vitamin), Vitamin D, and my PPI. I take all of these during breakfast too. I have always found that my vitamins go down better with my food. I have two others that I haven't added in yet because they are so large - Fish Oil and Evening Primrose Oil (for hot flashes). I'm four weeks out so I'm going to wait a week or more before I try to get those down.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
