If you have read my posts you'll realize that although my doctor did a wonderful job with my surgery I practically was left in the dark about what happens after surgery, especially what to eat so thank God for this site!

NOW, for those who were told not to eat strawberries or other berries... how long did you have to wait? What kind were allowed? I have a bunch of different kinds of berries in my fridge and I want to make a smoothie in the morning without causing damage to my belly.

My doc did not say anything about no berries. In fact, I used to eat strawberries right after I started solids phase. Did your surgeon say why no berries?

I second avoid anything with small seeds for at least a couple of months. You really don't want that getting stuck in the staple line.

I asked about that too, my Dr said no berries for 6 weeks because at 6 weeks your staples will be completely healed, but my nut and patient care advocate said if I was blending it in with my Protein Shake that it was fine. It wasnt on any of my paperwork so it was a little confusing. I ended up blending it and had no problems and I was only 3 weeks out.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
