Knowing When You Have Had Enough

Recommended Posts

I was feeling extra thirsty and had a pastey tongue. I grabbed a bottle of cold Water and remembered to take small sips. My sleeve reacted noisely to the cold sips of water. I decided to slowly eat a SF Popsicle. Still feeling thirsty I took a few small sips of a warm Vitamin water zero (tastes yucky) so I decided to do the other SF Popsicle I had about 2 inches left and I took a little bit let it melt in my mouth then swallowed and OUCH!!! It hurt! WTH! So being a warm bloodied creature I took another bite just to make sure and it happened again! Light bulb went off in my HEAD! You have had enough! I tossed the rest of my popsicle and felt okay with doing so! Pre-surgery I would have the need to finish the small piece of popsicle! Waste not Want not!

A good lesson learned! Keep it with you always! There is a lot more to be gained by WASTING food that cleaning your plate :) - our mentality has to change about such things.

You seem to be doing well! Way to go!

IMO, the "clean plate club" should be renamed the "guaranteed big a*# club". Good on you for knowing when to say when.

My husband thinks its funny that I will eat my food and only have a bite or two left and push it away. I stop when my body tells me, one bite in or one bite from the end. I keep giving my husband the last bites of whatever I have left. He somehow is still losing lots of weight too :)

Finding that hair's line between "enough" and "ouch" is an ongoing game. Sometimes "ouch" is bite #2, sometimes bite #20. Fortunatey I have different degrees of ouch, and ouch hits quickly (before I can grab another bite). I had a nice soft stop for the first few weeks but that seems to have stopped... dang it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
