I'm one month post-op, have lost 35 and have had a relatively uneventful/easy journey since surgery. I was 225 today, down from 260. My size 18's are getting baggy and it feels GOOD.

Today I babysatt for two toddlers, in addition to my own two-year-old. I decided we'd decorate Cookies. I made sugar Cookies and bought candy toppings, icing, etc... The kids had a blast.

I ate one cookie with frosting & sprinkles. I felt guilty afterward but just moved on. After everybody left and my baby was napping, I fell into the trap as I was cleaning up. The M&M'S beckoned me and I ate probably 1/4 cup of them. I suspected this would make me sick (and sabatoge my progress) yet could not restrain myself.

30 minutes later I was vomiting... and the chocolate coming back up was disgusting!! A few hours later I had diarrhea. I was miserable but knew I brought this on myself!

When will I learn? I've thrown out all the cookies and candy and never want to have another experience like this again. I just don't understand why I make bad decisions in the "heat of the moment" knowing full well that I'll badly regret them later.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who makes these bad choices. And those who have conquered them, how did you do it?

Sounds like you're not going to be eating sweets for quite some time, hmmm? :) I think you'll conquer that sweet addiction in a hurry now. You're doing it the same way many of us have beat our food addiction. Basically, that's one food at a time. You will learn what sleevie will tolerate and what sleevie won't tolerate.

I've gotten sick once and that was because I ate bread and Pasta at my meal, then took a drink much too quickly after eating. I don't eat bread or much Pasta anymore. :)

Hey don't beat up on yourself. I love sweets also, I had 1 cupcake & a scoop of ice cream last week. I dont have cravings like i use to. but i dont deprive myself. after the cookie just say ok, no more. i think the reason for the vomiting is because you ate too much or too fast (you were sneaking). last night i went to an event they had mini cupcakes, brownies & fruit. i chose fruit because i knew it was better for me and forwhat i am doing, if i would have deprived myself last week, trust me i would have grabbed a mini red velvet cupcake w/buttercreme icing. your mind has to catch up with your body. your mind has not gotten the memo that youre doing a new thing. i still fight with skinny girl/fat girl. i am also 1 mo post opand has lost 29 1/2 lbs. keep going, enjoy your journey its all trial and error, keep ur head up!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
